Fed IV dimensions

OK, a potentially silly question - does anyone know if the dimensions of the Fed IV (brim width, crown height) change as the hat size changes? ie. I currently have a 59 in which I've put the foam tape so it now happily fits my 58 head. But if I were to purchase a 58 (so that it'd probably fit out of the box) would the overall size of the hat be any different? Hope that makes sense...

Hi Alex,

the previous version of the Federation there was some marginal height change between 54 to a 64, this is not the case with the Fed 4, the crown height is the same for all sizes.

Thanks, Ron. That's great. And I'm guessing the brim width remains the same too? I don't know why but I thought the hat dimensions might change in proportion to the hat size...I was thinking of selling my 59 and buying a 58 if the fit was proportional but I'll stick with my 59 now. Thanks again!

Alex, the new style fits just a little tighter than the old version (less than a 1/4"), it is also a little more oval which is a good thing. Unless the fit was really loose or really tight you should stay with the previous size.

All dimensions, brim, height remain are the same across all sizes.

Thanks, Ron - very helpful. I just wanted to check really that I wasn't 'making do' by using the foam tape if there was a better fit/size to be had. I'm extremely happy with the hat and had great fun working on the bash!
