Federation colors

Post by backstagejack »

I've been thinking on purchasing a Fed...but instead of brown, I was wanting a gray fedora.

Fed has a "charcoal" colour I believe which on the site looks to be a dark grey...
I'm looking for more of the grey that Indy has, which has been described as "china clipper" grey.

IS the hat that dark or is it just a dark pic?? Thanks for any help.

Moonstone? Is that a lighter gray?

I was checking on Hatsdirect.com and the only colors offered are tawny fawn, black, mid-brown, dark brown, and carbon gray. Is there another site to buy Feds from that would have "moonstone"? Maybe they just haven't added it to the site yet.....

I'm thinking I will go with a fed, until the time that I can afford an AB.

The regular Fed IV comes in moonstone, tawny fawn, brown and carbon gray. The moonstone is a light gray color.

See thats odd....the link takes me to where its supposed to, but when I attempt to find the Fed IV on my own....I can't. Oh well, I'll save the link you gave me and keep to that.

Thanks you guys!

The Federation IV hasn't been put on the main page yet.

Try this link, it gives all the info on the Federation IV and the Federation IV Deluxe on their own sub page. http://www.hatsdirect.com/federation/

Ron has been very gracious in giving us "first dibs" on the FedIV. Once the movie hits, I believe the FedIV page will go public, so get 'em before the demand REALLY goes up!

That's true, bink. Ron has always given us first shot at the Fed line before they were posted publically, as he's worked with many of us in first person to develop these products, so if you're wanting to get one before it hits the proverbial fan, jump now or wish you had in the near future.

Akubra is just like the Winchester hat co. where many of our hat makers get their felt from. They only make hat felt in batches, and once a particular batch is sold out, and if it's before the scheduled new batch is due to be made, you may have to wait a while before the stock is replenished.

Ron tries to keep a rolling order with Akubra to keep his stock filled at all times, but when a particular product line is popular and sells quickly, sometimes a gap in delivery can occur.

It's also another reason why Ron and HatsDirect are so well appreciated here. From the beginning they've been about helping us out and they show no sign of leaving us by the wayside. Not only to they have a well deserved customer loyalty, they have loyalty to their customers at COW. Hats off to them!

Couldn't agree binkmeister's comment more. I organised for a replacement 58 for a 57 in the Fed and the hat was being sent the same day the old one was being sent back. Now THAT is service!! :D :D
