Bullwhip movie sighting!

Post by whipwarrior »

This past weekend I went to see Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, and preceeding the feature was a trailer for a movie called The Rundown, starring Christopher Walken and The Rock. Some guy was doing some bad-### whipcracking, albeit with a pair of cheap cowhide bullwhips. Still, the sight (and sound!) of the lash made me sit up in my theater seat and pay attention. :-) It's nice to see bullwhips in the movies again!

Hey, thanks TOJ! That was prety cool! Nice whip-work! Between that, and 'Underworld' or whatever the Kate Bekinsale/Vampire flick is, what's with the new interest in movies to have two whips at once? Not that I'm complaining, it's pretty cool to see whips in action again. It's like the excitement I got at 14 when the Ninja movies (ahhh....being a teen in the 80's...Sho Kosugi where art thou?) would have a guy use two pair of nunchaku at once and we'd all get totally freaked!

Welcome back, movie bullwhip...we've missed you

Alot of those whip shots are CGI though. Kinda takes the magic out of it 'eh?

But looks like a fun movie anyways!
