Wested Turnaround Time these days...

Post by JohnNdy »

I was just wondering if anyone could comment on the turnaround time of a wested these days. I ordered mine in early June and am wondering if it is usual for it to take over a month. My last Wested came rather quickly, but perhaps that was not the norm. Anyway, I will email Peter as well...thanks...

I'm having mine delivered to a UK address and it's just coming upto a month since I ordered mine with a no show. So I'm guessing there must be some delay.

No response from Peter on a mail I sent on Monday yet...

I ordered mine with some customization toward the end of June, so I wouldn't expect to see it until next week.

According to the Wested site:

"As each jacket is custom made and not of the shelf we quote a maximum of 21 days to despatch plus 2/3 days delivery on a tracked system which will require a signature "

Still, an order at the beginning of June seems to be a bit behind schedule. I jumped in when everyone was getting terrific turn-around on their orders. Looked like I missed the train. Too bad, I go on vacation the end of next week and hoped to take my new jacket with me.

Please keep us posted, and I'll do the same.

Best to all,

It may depend on what hide you ordered your jacket in. I ordered my authentic lamb right after Memorial Day weekend, and am still waiting. At one check, Peter rejected a shipment of skins and was waiting on new to arrive.

I was told last week that the jacket was done and just waiting on the nametag, so I'm hoping to hear something shortly whether or not it's been shipped.

Just heard from Peter, and he's been tied up with stunt double costumes for the new King Arthur movie, but will be actively involved again sometime next week with affairs at hand. Regards. Michaelson

That's one thing to remember about Peter, if the shipment isn't exactly right, he sends them back. I remember about 2 years ago there is a big hold up on lambskin jackets because of the supplier. Very high QC.

Thanks for the response, folks.

I'm not thrilled about the extra wait, but I'd much rather be patient and get a quality hide from a quality vendor. This is a jacket I intend to have for a while, a little waiting wouldn't be the end of the world, and might be good for one's character :)

Best to all,

Just got an email from Peter! He said my jacket ships tomorrow, so I should get it sometime late next week, I assume. Mine was pretty loaded in terms of customizations so I expected it to take a bit longer. You all know how it goes, the longer the wait, the harder it becomes to do just that...

Wested turnaround?

Post by Lindiana »

Hey all, for some reason I haven't been able to post the last couple days!
Anyway I ordered my Wested on June 13, so it's been 5 weeks to the day. Peter e-mailed and said " Your jacket will be goiong out the beginning of the week and I will e-mail the tracking number to you." It's now the end of the week and I still haven't heard anything about a tracking number. I'm just gonna be patient for a while longer, I understand his bread and butter isn't making these jackets for private individuals.

Sorry folks, we had a problem with the authentic lamb delivery which came in 10 days ago. Nearly all the backlogged orders have now been made and being despatched Monday. Although we are mega busy with film work we are still processing the Indyjacket orders. The late deliveries only effects the authentic lamb and we are now again waiting for skin although current orders are up to date.
Thank you for you patience
Cheers

Thank you, Peter, for your attention to detail and to your customers.

As I mentioned before, I wouldn't have expected it before next week anyway, so this is right on time for me.

Eagerly awaiting delivery.

Sounds good!
I guessed you must be in the middle of a film production, so I was just gonna wait it out a couple weeks more. I figure I've waited 22 years to own my first Wested I can go a while longer. My only concern was being able to track the item, since my local area delivery services are fairly unreliable. Thanks again to Peter and Wested for being patient with us, and I hope to be ordering a Wested goat soon after getting my lambskin.
Thanks again Peter.

I just received my TOD jacket today- almost two months to the date from when I ordered. I talked to someone at Wested last Monday (who knows it may have been Peter!) and was told that the jacket was shipped Airborne. Peter had emailed me a few weeks ago to tell me he was waiting on the skins to come back from Italy. I guess they were on a beach somewhere tanning!

Received mine today, what a beautiful jacket. I decided to go with cow hide ToD and am very glad I did due to the length on me: 6'3"

When I figure out what 'King Arthur' movie was responsible for the delay it will become a popular talking point :)

Now with this jacket and my Fed, Fed Deluxe and Indiana Miller I am a happy, happy man. Thanks to all you guys here for pointing me to the best value and quality gear....

The skies have cleared, the waters have receded and the angels wept and have begun to sing....My first wested just arrived! Haven't had time yet to even open the package yet, since I was leaving for work when Airborn dropped it off. It's been just over 6 weeks since ordering and I can't wait to get otta work and check it out.
