Shrinking a hat on purpose

I recently purchased an Akubra Bushman for B&BP (block and bash practice). It is a size 63 and I take a 61 or 62. Is there any way to shrink it to fit? I was considering careful circumfrential application of a steam iron to the band area against a tailor's ham or a sleeve ironing buck.
What say ye?

you could get a block from hatshapers.com and do a re block.
