US Wings Goatskin - 3 yrs. old

Post by nicetrylaoche »

Here is the first Indy Jacket I bought, but I don't call it my first Indy jacket technically since I didn't buy it brand new...it's definitely too big in the shoulders and sleeves, but I really like the look and feel.
It's lightweight, but meaty and tough as nails.

I'm thinking about selling it since it's too big, but it's just so beautiful.

I would suggest holding on to it, because many people...er...grow... into larger sizes as they get older. I know I have. ;)

Just to give you guys an idea of what the US Wings Large measurements are, I'm going to take the usual measurements for the jacket tonight when I get home (I'll post them here).

I have been thinking of why USW did make those sleeves with that incredible inacurate top arm seam that goes over the triceps?

Michaelson...do you know?

thanks

I'd guess making three-piece sleeves allows them to make more economical use of the available hide. Two hides instead of cutting into a third. Goats are not big critters.

Correct! You'll see the same thing on their lambskin jackets too.

It's just the size of the critters they have to deal with in making a jacket, and decisions have to be made in order to finish any given project.

You don't see this on their cowhide jackets.
