Holt,
My first Indy pants were the LL Beans that were recommended on the main site. The dress chinos or whatever they were. I loved the way they looked with the rest of my gear!! Not only were they light weight, they were roomy and extremely comfortable. Which is great for a fat guy like me!!I started wearing them as everyday pants (I don't own any jeans believe it or not) until the button thing popped off. I may still have them. I know that ;0 but I am not the most computer savvy guy so a description will have to do.
Regards,
Schmidty

Hi Risu,Risu wrote:Which pants would you suggest? The ones I found on LL Bean did not have the flap pockets.
I think this one in dark khaki:

You can check this thread for pics w/the web belt and shirt, and also a color comparison...

Also, here's a shot of the taupe microfibers with the rest of my gear (not wearing it ,obviously) for comparison...

Yeah,Chewie Louie wrote:I was not aware of that. Good to know. For me, these pants are just fine. Unless someone presents a compelling reason to by a pair that is more SA, my search for pants is pretty much over.Mola Ram wrote:And if they rip, just send the pair back and Bean will send you out a replacement pair!
this is the case with everything made by L.L. Bean.
I bought one of their school packs back in 2nd grade for 40$,
and since then I have had 6 packs, all of which cost me nothing and
I'm a Senior in high school now. Thats pretty good if you ask me...
You just send the item back, and they send you a new one. Keep in
mind it has to be a product failure, but they pretty much accept anything.
I was in the L.L. Bean store a while ago and a man was returning his old boots, they looked around 10-15 years old, but they still gave him store credit...

I assume that is what you are wearing in the pic?IndyWannaBee wrote:WPG Indy shirt with LLBean taupe pants!
I'm not afraid to admit I'm leery of the WPG shirt. I know Jerry does his best, as I've been buying WW2 stuff from him for over a decade, but there has been so much negative feedback on the Indy shirt that I can't help but wonder if it's even worth it to try.

Just to clarify, is this the exact pair in question?

Maybe it's just the website pictures, but on the first link I posted (wool) it seems a bit more of the reddish color, and the latter (microfiber) seem to have more of a green tint, even though they both are called Taupe.

How fast was shipping? I've found some decent cheap alternatives, but I can't do a quality compare check until my Todd's shirt arrives. But the taupe LL beans do look great. Most likely going to order a pair in a few weeks.Herr Doktor wrote:My taupe microfibers arrived today. Seemed alot lighter in color than what I've seen on here, and what I was expecting....not that it's a bad thing.
