Do you think Peter would adjust. . .

Post by CapKimmel »

Hello,
Last October I bought a Raiders new cow Wested, size 44. My first jacket was a little snug in the shoulders, so I had the tailor measure a little larger this time. It's huge.
My point:
I would like to have some of the girth taken out of the chest, stomach, waist and the arm hole. I know most would say just get another jacket, but this one has character, and the inches I want taken out of the jacket should leave plenty of room for new seams and adjustments to be made. The pockets might me farther to the side than they should be, but I'm willing to live with that for a better fit.
Thoughts?

Your jacket may have character, but what you are proposing sounds like major surgery to me. Essentially, accept for the sleeves, it sounds as if you want a complete down sizing of your jacket. I'm sure other folks more familiar with how Peter handles these things can help you more, but I'd really be surprised if he did it as you suggest.

There's one way to find out..................ask Peter :P

He may suggest a new jacket, but I would say it doesn't hurt to find out. Why not order a new one and use the one you have as a display item?
Just a thought :D

Thanks for the replies!
I would opt for just getting a new jacket in cowhide. . . possibly goat, however, I only recently purchased a jacket in New lamb, which fits great and is very nice. My problem is that I have no money to order another and I would rather only have two jackets as opposed to three. But the greatest detractor would have to be that my wife would find some way of having me executed in my sleep, Third world dictator style. I'm also hoping that Peter will come along and see this post and answer my question that way, rather than calling them. Because I'm broke. I haven't had much luck with emails. Perhaps it's time I learned how to send them.

Just so you know, Peter is swamped with work right now. He is doing 3 films and trying to keep up with personal orders. He SHOULD get back to you. It's all a matter of when. Keep trying him.
You could offer one of the jackets for sale here or on e-bay. They seem to sell for a reasonable price and it would get you "some" of the money towards a new one. The alterations will cost you about the same as the difference for a new one, maybe less.
