I like the second one. If it is also listed as just "fur felt," it's going to be a rabbit felt. I think the second one lends itself to becoming more of an Indy hat, if that's what you have in mind. Where did you find the second one listed? Is it the Jaxon Iconoclast?

i own a grey jaxon bogart... which i think is the same block shape (at least very similar) as the iconoclast and has the same teardrop and pinch. It's not a bad hat, especially for the price. it's not gonna be the greatest hat you'll ever own but i doubt it'll be the worst. i wear mine quite a bit while waiting on my camptown to roll around.

oh and jaxons are chinese factory made rabbit fur felt hats if you were wondering.

The second hat looks like the winner to me, going only on the photos provided. The color difference in the pictures of the second is probably just lighting.

Ok, the felt is too thin, the crown is too short, and while it is definitely fur felt, I can almost read the newspaper through it..............Oh, no stiffener in it, so it droops all over my head(the brim, that is).............not a good Indy hat, IMO................

For another 40 dollars or so you could get the akura fed. It would be a better quality much more SA and last you more than a couple of months. Don't thow away your money.
