A Great Forum

Post by Buchanan Bob »

Hello everyone.
I've been lurking for a few months and finally became a member. I had no idea that such sites were available. I can't believe the amount of information that is on this site. I have had a ball reading the posts. My search for another fedora brought me here. I have been wearing them all my life. Then I read a little about a man named Steve and his Adventurebilts. Wow! This is the hat I've been searching for. I placed my order on April 21, 2008. I had an email back from Steve in no time. What a great guy. :D I don't mind the wait at all. To have a hat handmade is something new for me. And by the guy that did the hats for Indy 4 no less. How many people will be able to say that? I just wanted to say thanks for the hours of fun I've had here and will continue to enjoy.

Oh, by the way, I ordered the "Idol Grab" bash. :P

Thanks. I am almost afraid to say that it is a Dorfman Pacific. I took the scissors and cut the brim a little to give it the dimensional cut and a little water and a clothes pin to give it a nice pinch. It helped the overall look so much, my friends thought I got a new hat. Wait until they see the AB. I can't wait.

I have also ordered a SOC from Peters Brothers. I got the hat in the soft rabbit fur felt. I am told I should get it in June. Anybody else have one of these? I ordered it before I learned about ABs. Oh well. It will be a great hat and my favorite until I get the white box from Mississippi.

Gosh darn it, this is a pretty good site at that, isn't it? Steve's definitely a class-A guy! I'm sure you'll love the hat.

The only person I can think of off the top of my head who is a PB aficionado is Michaelson, though I'm certain there are plenty of others. Given any thought to the Akubras? Myself, I have one AB, another on the way, an Akubra Fed Deluxe, and a few other miscellaneous hats in my collection. I wish somebody had warned me, this hobby can get expensive!

Welcome to COW!

Regards, Andy

There are many on here.

AF Indy: You need to find a forum that provides information, rather than rumor and speculation.

Such as this one. Don't think the blind man can lead you.

Let's not start attacking each other, please. We want to show Bob that we're friendly towards one another here and that we can all get along. (hint hint)

Welcome, Bob!

Welcome to the madness... you came for the gear but you'll stay for the people.

Best way to find out who makes the best fedora to suit your needs is to buy one from all the vendors you find here. Keep everyone happy.
