Wested TOD

Post by corellian1 »

I've been thinking lo these many months about ordering my first wested in the LC style, but today I've started thinking maybe a longer length would look better on me (I'm 5' 7, and definitely of the stocky persuasion). I know the actual TOD shooting jackets were very different from the Wested-built models used in Raiders and LC, but I was wondering how Wested's TOD design compares. Is the only difference in the length of the body? Or does Wested use the smaller pockets and other eccentricities that were seen in the film?

(For the record, I'd prefer the jacket to use the LC-sized pockets and features, just in a longer length, if I decide to go this route).

Well, if I may say so, I think your last line pretty much dictates what you want to know....Peter makes every jacket to order. If you want the LC sized pockets on a TofD length jacket, go for it. He'll make it anyway YOU want it, so I wouldn't be concerned on how they come off the rack....just order the features YOU want, and you'll be paying the same amount regardless. Regards. Michaelson

And that's what make Peter's product such a steal. It is absolutley mind boggling that with all the TV and movie productions, you will get a custom-made jacket from THE maker. You simply cannot beat that. I tell people how much it cost and they are astounded.

Peace,

On Monday I received my TOD from Peter and I love this jacket! It fits me so much better than my Raiders that I bought from Wested a few years ago. I had to send the jacket back to Peter to have the sleeves shortened a bit, but other than that, the TOD jacket is the way to go for me! I like that the collar is a bit larger than the Raiders and the length suits me better also. I've just put in for another order for a TOD jacket to Peter. I can't stess enough how much the TOD jacket is my favorite! :D

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone - jeez, about the time you think you know what you want, you go and think of some other aspect or feature. No wonder so many folks end up owning multiple jackets!

Oh, and Michaelson, sometimes I just need someone to point out that I've already made up my mind - thanks!

I bought the crusade jacket, then 2 months later got a TOD. The pockets were the same size. I ordered the TOD EXTRA long (4" longer than the crusade) and I love it. It doesn't have the snaps or larger collar like the crusade, but is basically the same jacket. I wanted to have a short screen accurate jacket, and a longer one to cover my freezing butt in the winter.
I would say that if you like the crusade style, but want the temple length, just order the crusade a few inches longer.
Hope this helps.
