Today was a good gear day! USW KOTCS Jacket arrived, and my Akubra Adventuer, courtesy DM, also showed up, my first true Fedora (not counting my mangled old Stetson). Pic below from first bashing attempt, about 10 minutes of playing around..

Are there any sweeter words to see online than "Package is out for delivery" ?
Akubra Adventurer arrived today!

Looks good! If I may, IMHO, I think maybe just curl the brim a little bit, and play with that center crease towards the front there - the top/front of the hat needs those nice camel humps on it. Not a bad job though on your first attempt, by any means!!
Very nice color though, and looks like a good block, too!

If you look at the title of the thread, as well as the first post, you'll see it's the Akubra Adventurer. And yes, you can get them on the David Morgan site.oswd wrote:Nice hat.
It is the Federation IV?
Greetings
Sorry ...
mmmmm
DM=David Morgan ?
I got to see Luke's in person over the weekend. The day before he (and the hat) got nicely dunked in the Potomac River (it was a warm day). What I like is that he never once thought about it, he just wore the hat and never looked back. Heck, it was raining the day we met up, too, so there was never any doubt about wearing our hats in the rain!
I can tell you that it looks like a good hat for the money. It definitely lives up to the Akubra name as being a hat designed to take the abuse you give it. What's more, his is already taking on a well-worn personality. While some will argue that it might not be made on the "perfect block," I think it's a good option for those who want a slightly shorter crown. I wouldn't be ashamed to own one.
