MY US Wings Indy Limited Edition jacket- your thoughts, pls

Post by gmarthe »

So I couldn't wait and told UPS to hold my jacket at the station so I could pick it up. I brought it home and I must say it is gorgeous. It feels a little big and I think it looks great zipped up but unzipped it looks BIG.

Took the pictures by myself so I couldn't get too fancy. I included one of me without the jacket for reference (never know what guys could be smuggling under these things when they're zipped up!) :D

Well, depends.

If you're looking for a tailored fit, it's a bit large.

If you're looking to match the CS jacket look (since that's where this leather came from in the first place) as seen on Ford in the new movie, looks like a pretty good match to me.

I agree with Michaelson. It nails the CS look, but because the other versions were trimmer fits, it looks large to our eyes. I think you could get away with one size smaller and have more of an LC/ToD look, if you wanted that.

Yep too big... If you want I'd be more than willing to take that jacket off your hands.
Seriously I think that's about as good of a fit as you can expect from S, M, L, XL sizing. Personally that is how I would want that jacket to fit. I guess it all depends on what you prefer but for my money I don't think you could find a cooler looking jacket.

Does anyone know if they have any of these Special Edition jackets left? I'm really regretting not ordering one after seeing how cool they turned out.

Looks fine to me. I generally prefer things to fit a bit on the large size (more freedom of movement), so I wouldn't worry about the sizing unless you're working the runway.

Well since I posted I have recieved opinions from people I respect here on the board and my wife told me it looks good too so sorry everyone I'm keeping it. :whip: I do think it captures the CS look (which I like). Now I have to start saving my pennies for another jacket so I can mix it up (and I blame all of you!!!!) I Kid. Thanks for all of the help, support, advice and anything I may have forgotten. It's weird, I have been a member here for over two years (mostly lurking 8) ) but now that I have a jacket I feel like I REALLY belong. I'll take a picture this weekend in full gear so everyone can check it out.

It looks a little big, but you look young too. What is a little big today may fit good tomorrow.

Nice jacket wish I had one.

Most people outside this form have no clue what the difference between an A-2 and a Indy jacket are anyway.

I agree, one size too big. Maybe someone will have one one size too small and be willing to swap.

I'm 36 so I hope I don't expand too much. "it's not the years, it's the mileage."

It looks very KotCS to me... mine also fits a little big, but I think it fits with the new movie. Very comfortable jacket, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

Also, I think your pictures show the color of the leather pretty accurately - it's really not as light of a leather as some of the other pictures have shown (including some I've posted).
