Getting ready for first AB Order - Need Advice Please!
Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to COW but I've been an Indy fan for quite a while. I've always wanted an authetic Indy hat and so I want an AdventureBilt! I already know all of what I want and I e-mailed Steve.
-Raiders Bash
-Street of Cairo Style (yes...yet another one haha.. )
-Raiders Turn built in
However, I just need advice on one thing that has leapt on me at the eleventh hour. SHOULD I HAVE THE BRIM DIMENSIONALLY CUT BECAUSE OF THE RAIDERS' TURN? How does it do with the overall look?
I'd appreciate any advice, espiecially from those that have an AB with the turn and then with or without the brim cut.
Thank you!!!

Bardoon, Steve will know what to do. You might want to supply pictures of your head for him if you wish, so the hat is shaped to your head. So that way it looks great on your noggin when you receive it, but some don't and the hat looks great anyway. Have you ordered the hat?? I am thinking of ordering another AB just to get another one before Steve raises his price again. Still contemplating that though. I got one AB on order and going to be waiting for a good while on it. Welcome to COW by the way, and I am sure you will find all the help you need here on collecting Indy gear and come here for the people.

Thanks everyone for your advice! I just ordered my AB Hat!!!!
I did not ask for the COW discount and paid the full $350 price. I don't feel like I deserved the discount just yet...maybe on a future order. Plus maybe the extra money will help contribute to factory-made ABs!
IndyChris...I will indeed supply head shots to Steve, that's a great idea. Thank you!

I ordered a second one just to get ahead of the rush that's going to occur after the film hits the theatres. I can just imagine the headaches Steve's about to have.IndianaChris711 wrote:Bardoon, Steve will know what to do. And congratulations Bardoon. You can never go wrong with an AB.

shape of head
how dost one measure their head, dimensionally, I mean? I have an akubra fed that is a 58-grabs my head at the front and back, but the sides are a bit loose. NOthing a little foam didn't fix, but still. Did you mean to imply that Steve can shape the hat specifically to head dimension? If so, how do you get good pics/measurements for that? Maybe a mini-thread on the in's and outs of a custom hat?

Sorry Bardoon, I didn't mean to demean you or your hat. A Dorfman Pacific is closer to Indy's hat than my 8 year old Bailey. So you are closer than I am. I was only making a comment on using DP for down payment when usually around here it means Dorfman Pacific. I intentionally didn't use the negative pun that is used from time to time.
