Marking/Tagging/Labeling your Fedoras

Post by IndianaSolo »

Hey gang,
After reading Alathea's post about the stolen hat and slowing my heart rate down, I suddenly felt the "What if it was my hat?" and WORSE "WHAT IF IT WAS MY AB???""

Now we can't ALWAYS keep an eye on our hats, and they have yet to develop an Anti-Theft system (maybe a chip in the band that shocks the wearer if it doesn't recognize the sweat    )

But what sort of methods are there, whether it be branding or sowing in a tag in lining or under the band, to ID that it is YOUR hat, and if anyone should find it, to return it to you?

Any suggestions?

There's always this approach:

Some use a business card instead.

You could write on the inside of your hat band, but people wouldn't think to look there I suppose.

There used to be little tags you could sew into clothing for ID purposes. I'm not sure they're available any more, but it might be worth checking out.

They install tracking chips in pets these days, what about one in your hat!

Yes! They put vital information on the chip, such as owner's address, any medical conditions, and what breed...Now stay with me, now...

...They could do the same for the hats...Label it 'Beaver' or 'Rabbit' or 'Hybrid'....
