Indiana Jones Official Fedora (With some work)

Post by hollywood1340 »

Found this at our local Army Navy and simply had to pick it up. And after hanging around this forum for awhile now it simply wasn't right. So with the help of my friend Gus and a teakettle we made it into a genaric Indy fedora. I won't torture you with pictures of the hat before we bashed it, but I will give some pictues after.

Dang it. Now I want the jacket.
If you give an Indyfan a fedora, he's going to want a jacket to go along with it.

Its easy to get the pin off if you want to. looks the same as mine was, just 2 small clasps either side that can be gently prized loose of the ribbon :)

Truthfully I have no idea. It's made in China, has Indiana Jones on the hatpin and in the swetband and is 100% Wool. I had read that steaming it would make it shrink, but it fits nicely still, and it was tight to begin with. The felt is nice and stiff and it holds it shape. I'm very pleased for $38

How exactly did you get the pin off? I have one of these (getting an upgrade to a Camptown soon though) but can't figure out how to get that stupid pin off without destroying the ribbon.

Thanks.

Great pics - If you could resize them to 640x480, that would be better. Forum rules and all...

That doesn't look that bad, considering it's a cheap wool wannabe. Good job.

That makes me wonder, has anyone ever tried re-blocking one of those fur-felt DPs?

I gotta give Gus credit. He does good work. After reading up on rebashing woll felt on these boards I figured it go cockeyed, but no, it shaped quite nicely and is holding that shape. I do need to get a darker ribbon though *Clamps hand over mouth* I did not just say that. I did NOT just say that.
