New Aldens and New Magnoli bag w pic!
A bumper gear day today as my superb Magnoli bag arrived as did my Aldens! Almost thought I'd got away with paying the import duty on the boots until the delivery guy asked me for a cheque on the doorstep! I'm really thrilled with them, the colour, the quality and the fact that in the end I went for the real thing! Think I'm just gonna go with brown shoe polish for now (I was thinking of putting them in my display case but that's pushing it! )
Anyway, pic as promised. Tron, you watching?
Cheers
Alex

When the gas mask was used, there was a string inside the bag that went around the person's body and wrapped around this disc in order to hold the bag squarely in front of the persons chest. The main strap went over the neck, and the string became a belt keeping the rig centered.

when the MKVII and similar bags were originally issued, they came with a length of string attached, meant to be wrapped around the waist to keep the bag from bouncing around. that little knob there was for you to tie the other end of the string to.
i think...

I just got my Magnoli bag yesterday—it's beaudiful! But because I could not bring myself to pay $35-45 on the strap I have a very ghetto temporary one—a brown belt held on by keyrings (the round metal ones).
The best news is that it perfectly fits my travel scrabble set in one compartment and a nalgene bottle in the other!
