another newbie, future camptown owner
Hello everyone!
i've been lurking around the forum for a while, scoping out any info on indy hats i could find (i never expected to find such a wealth of info and so many devoted people).
i have a beaten old bailey crushable with a c-crown i bought about 7 years ago that just doesn't cut it at all. not wanting to settle for a dorfman, i found COW and started searching. i instantly fell for the look and value of the camptown as soon as i saw it. i think it'll make a great first proper indy hat. after exchanging brief emails with Ken, he persuaded me to actually join here and stop lurking. I've still got to get ahold of him, so i can send him his money but as soon as i do i'll feel like a real member of the club.
ok, i'm gonna stop there before i start rambiling too much.

I think I hear a jacket softly beckoning me..... must wait until I have a hat though. i left the bailey sitting on the back seat of my car for quite a while and the sun bleached half of it an off putting shade of green.BoilermakerJones wrote:Welcome Rich!
I too have had an old crushable Bailey (the Glenn) for years and discovered COW when I finally realized that it needed to be retired. I came for the hat, but have branched out. Careful, its quite addictive!

The natives bid you welcome Rich! This is a great community of people to be associated with you won't be sorry joining at all. Also, welcome to the Camptown Family. Also, a hat you won't be sorry to own. A great pleasure to wear.
When the hat doers finally grace your noggin please be sure to post pics. We love those things.
Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome Dan! a big part of me deciding on the Camptown was your enthusiasm for it in some of the threads... not to mention the pictures of your hat you've posted. You should be on Ken's payroll... i think v.p of marketing would be appropriate.

Thanks! But no, I'm not on his payroll, I don't think he could afford me at this point. I just dig on his hats and will gladly tout the merrits of any good product that is of to quality. Also, with shaping my own hats I have learned a lot about quality lids. Ken definitely has a good thing going here.
Enjoy your new purchase whn you get it & be sure to post pics.
Cheers!

WalkingEye - Welcome to the Club.
I was exactly where you are now a month or so ago and came to the same conclusion.
Because of that, I am awaiting the Camptown Fieldmaster I ordered from Ken and, with a little more research still to do, I am leaning towards ordering a new jacket as well.
Best regards.
