New Goat G&B just arrived!!

Post by Bowie »

Lots of time comparing brands and a few conversations with Lee Keppler, and I was sold on the Expedition. I'm told I have Lee & _ to thank for the specs & stlye. So here's a big Thanks Fellas!! The look & feel of this jacket is off the chart. BUT, that was only the first step... Now that I know what size I wear (40T) I think I might send it back to customize(thanks for the suggestions Rundquist). Seal brown and a silver/nickel zipper. I get some pics of the Dark Brown up ASAP, but I may yet end up with a Seal Brown.

So did you order a size down? How tall are you? I'm working on a G&B in the next month, and I have a size locked in...But am on the fence for regular or Long.....

;0

Don't feel bad, someone nailed me yesterday with that...Yeah, i deserved it...

I knew it was coming  I wanted to take pics last night, but my wife got a new camera, and I'll be darned if I can work it yet.... As far as sizing went... I was sized up at a Men's Warehouse for a dress coat, so I used that (size 40), but my chest is 38in in a wht T shirt. Plus, G&B has a chart that states what they consider Tall 5'11" - 6' 4". I am tall & slender 6' 2" in my socks, and weigh 180lbs (+/-depending on how I eat, or don't...). The sleeve length is perfect on me, they fall just above my thumb. The goatskin is AWESOME, I really can't say enough about. It feels light weight, but tough enough for me to call it leather armor.
But color.... what color do I want ](*,) !?!?!?!?

Just my two cents,I am 6ft height and my chest measures 40". I got the G&B Goat in a 38 tall(long). It fits well, if you're thin and want a trim style fit. Sleeves are perfect. AAAHHHH, You probably want.....PICS!!!! Let me know.

I ordered a 44T (might be too big) Expedition as I am 40-41 inches in chest with a t-shirt but I wear a 43L suit jacket. Also my invoice says LD1L1ND-M44TN Lamb Seal Dk. I asked for Dark Brown. Am I getting that? Opinions? Should I go down to a 42T?

If you get it in, could you PLEASE measure a few things for me? That's the size i'm looking at...I'm actually closer to a 46" chest, but A. I hear they run a little big, and B. I'm losing weight, and don't want to have to replace it in a year or two!

Oh, and color as dark as i can get w/out going pure black....in Goat...

Also curious as to order turnaround time....Time is getting short!

They said it won't be ready for about 2 weeks. I'm getting a lambskin. If they run big, I wonder if I should go for a 42T. I measure 40-41" in the chest with a t-shirt on. Only reason I went up as I wear a 43L suit jacket; besides who goes down?

if anyone's interested, I just posted a 42T for sale in the bazaar. looks and feels brand new, only worn a few times. I will say this though.. I find it hard to believe that it's actually a tall size. I'm 6'2" and find the sleeves and body to be too short. of course, this might be because I should have ordered a 44 or even 46 and my back is hiking up the sleeves. dunno. :?

Yes Sir, it is the the dark brown.... Dark brown & black are standard, anything else is custom/non-returnable. I wanted to get my size right, and now I am waiting on a swatch of seal brown goatskin. Plus I want a silver zipper rather than brass, just a personnal preference....

Just ordered my Expedition in Dk Brown Goat, 44T. Now the wait begins!

After all the research on sizing I did, we'll see how close it is...Hope i don't have to send it back! Prolly won't, just a little nervous about sleeve length...Should be in the ballpark enough to work, though....Travis at G&B mentioned that 'Tall' only adds an inch to the length of the body and sleeves...

Looks good. Does the jacket do teh flying squirrel when you lift up your arms? (Does the rest of the jacket rise up when your arms are raised?)

That is a magnificent jacket, heirloom quality without question! I'm maxed out on Indy jackets, or I'd consider ordering a G&B, they are impressive.

Wear it well, because you sure won't wear it out!

So that's where your user-name comes from. And here I was expecting a picture of the Thin White Duke himself modeling your jacket.

Am I the only one that thought of that? Anyone? Anyone?

Nice knife.

The wait is over :D :D :D
My seal brown Expedition is here complete with the requested nickel hardware. The seal brown is beautiful, and feels softer than the dark brown did. I will get pictures up asap, I am at the office w/o a camera, but was too excited not to post....

This worries me. I want a G&B and was told be Travis that a 42T would fit me. I'm just under 6'2" and 180 pounds. Will it fit me?

I usually wear a 42 regular...

I got my 44T (6'3", 200 lbs.) in dark brown lambskin with the brass zipper and I love it. Teresita at G&B didn't even offer the nickel hardware but that's fine though.

I just received my 44T and I'm happy with the fit.

I'm 6'1" and weigh 195. I have a 34" waist and I probably could have gone with a 42" but the shoulders fit and that was the main thing.

With the underarm gussets, pleated back and adjusting straps on the side you have room to go a little large or small and still have a decent fit.

I am unsure of the right sizing for my jacket: I am 5-10 1/2" tall, 186 lbs., with a 43" chest and a 41" waist. For all you G&Bers out there, what size would you suggest for me?

Here's my 8 year old Expedition.

Image

It's up in the Bazaar as well. Every bit of distressing was honestly obtained, and as I even mention, I've jumped out of an airplane twice with it on...and broke both my arms in it...

You see, they do distress. That actually looks very worn in for 8 years. So much better than those silly sandpaper worn jackets some folks like.

Mine is only a few weeks old but it already looks worn in. Just by wearing it (no tricks) it is getting soft and wrinkly. I am perhaps one of th eonly people here who likes Indy jackets when they are new.

What and who did you speak to to sort this out? I was told they COULDN"T put a nickel zipper on my jacket I just ordered. I thought this was a bit strange at the time but went with it...

Me too...
I have thought about a G&B but want the nickle zipper. I was told the same thing. So I have been preparing to get a Magnoli raiders. But if nickle (I wish they cost a nickle)is an option....I will be back at square one. What are the magic words pray tell?

Don't let a mere zipper put you off a G&B, ####, it's the best jacket you can get, so what if the zipper is the "wrong colour".
