Gemma's birthday

Post by afrayedknot »

It's Gemma's birthday next week and I was just thinking, would anyone be interested in chipping in on some sort of gift? Considering that she has to deal with grown men and their obsession with Indiana Jones on a daily basis and still maintain some level of sanity, I thought it might be a nice gesture . . . or does that sound too weird?

I wouldn't know how to go about organizing something like that, anyway, but I guess it's the thought that counts. A friendly e-mail might be enough to make her day.

(When's Peter's birthday? Sometime in October?)

 :rolling: Nice one there Castor.

I did not even know it was Gemma's birthday next week. How did you find out anyway afrayedknot?? She tell you in an e-mail or something?? I think it would be nice to get her something, but what are we going to get her. I don't know her very well. It is a good idea, just I am not sure it would get there on time, but its the thought that counts. I really appreciate all that she does over at Wested in answering everyone's questions and just the great customer service she really puts in over at wested. Well lets see if others chime in here.

It wasn't difficult. I was doing research for specs on my first Wested and I came across a thread where Peter mentioned Gemma's birthday.

If we were really serious about getting her something, we could always send the funds to Peter.

That certainly would be a guy's choice. Perhaps we should ask for a female opinion.

Ladies?

I'm sure she's sick of the sight of leather jackets!

Chocolate is usually a good bet.

I just PM'd Peter and asked if he would be willing to collect funds as well as provide us with gift suggestions.

Just get her a big box of Maltesers - the UK kind. It'll be like sending a box full of chocolate temple boulders, and everybody loves them.

I just got Peter's response about collecting funds and suggesting a gift. Here it is:

Yes I could, I would suggest a paypal account and possibly and maybe let Gemma buy herself something she wants. What do you think.
Cheers
Peter

So, what do you think?

Its the stuff dreams are made of...

Afrayedknot, how would we setup a PayPal account for Gemma, I would chip in if you could get it working, anyone else in?? I think it is a great idea, that way she can spend it on whatever she wants, kind of like a gift card I guess. What does everyone else think??

Per the webmaster's request, unless this is an official COW venture (which it isn't), please continue with this offline.

Thanks, and please extend a Happy Birthday to Gemma for the site!

Regards! Michaelson
