X-O odor remover is your best bet:

Unfortunately, you're going to need to soak the leather. But since it's ruined anyway, it's your only option. That smell will never go away otherwise.

roll the add for having pets fixed to prevent unwanted strays - and having your best jacket soaked in something almost similar to skunk musk!! :-&
goodluck with your chem test. i didnt know there was anything that could cure that smell besides throwing the item away and buying a new one.

I might also suggest Nature’s Miracle. My cat used some of camping gear as a litter box and that stuff made it all smell like new. Comes in a white bottle with Red lettering at pet-stores.

By the way… that cat made the best fur purse my wife has ever owned in 20 years.

In regards to carpet, here's what my Home Remedies book says for Cat Boo-boo (not sure if for #1 or #2 mistakes):

1. Blot the affected area with clean white cloths or paper towels until none of the urine shows on the absorbent material.
2. Use a spray bottle or a sponge to lightly flush the area with tap water. Do not overwet.
3. Blot dry with the same type of absorbent material.
4. Combine 1 teaspoon dishwashing paowder detergent and 1 c up lukewarm water. Rub the solution into the carpet pile with your fingers.
5. Blot dry, then flush as described in step 2. Blot until the area ais as dry as possible.
6. Dampen the area with a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Let sit for a few minutes. Blot until the carpet is as dry as possible.
7. Place a one-inch layer of the absorbent material on the treated area and weight it down with a heavy object. Leave it in place for 8 hours.

Copper, I TRULY feel your pain! Last Fall, my wife's cat sprayed my Wested, all over the inside liner. I brought it to MANY cleaners, and absolutely every single one of them refused to touch it, saying that male urine will simply not come out. Eventually, Peter (Botwright, obviously) recommended that I send it to him so he can replace the liner. Until I got around to that, I caved and ordered an exact dupe of the damaged one (that I'd had barely 8 months) I suppose it worked for the best, cuz now I have one for every day wear, and one for 'display'. But I was SOME ticked off! None of the home remedies I tried ever worked, but hopefully you'll find one that I didn't (then pass it along!)

Good luck!

 I'd get my bullwhip and wear that cat out.

Get it cleaned by a leather expert. You'll probably ruin your jacket otherwise. Cheers

Kung Pao Meow anyone?

I hope you can successfully get it cleaned. Most anything that I've had sprayed by a cat had to be burned and buried. :(

:-& Save your time, save your money, and save your gas running around looking for a professional cleaner and just learn from the experience and use that energy in getting a new jacket. Living in a rural area most of my life, I can tell you those type of odors do not come out unless it is confined to the lining and has not penetrated into the leather itself, or just lightly affected.

Since it is a Wested however, you might consider a ‘Viking’ funeral for it if you live near a large body of water rather than just burying it. :(

Ok I did it! :D After using baking soda,MEK,Alcohol,Pine soll,& lots of water.I got the stinkin cat smell out but the only thing now is that it smells like pine soll.Thought that I ruined it cuz after the Pine soll when it dried it was as hard as a craker  .I used a whole can of leather condisioner on it not sure what it was dont remember.Well anyways since summer is here its spending time outside.I dont recomend using this method cuz it realy wasnt a method that I used. The jacket was already ruined so I wanted to see how much a lamb wested can take.Well lets just say that you can do a lott to em & they age nicely.Untill next time,Copper.
