New Wested HH Cotton Body / Silk Sleeves

Post by kobol »

Hi All,
I just picked up my new Wested from a local tailor. It's a Wested "Standard" in Horsehide. The reason I took it to a tailor was the fact I didn't like the satin sleeves. I had some Pure Silk Poplin on hand and had the sleeves redone for $25.00. I think it was money well spent. Now the sleeves have a cotton feel to them. So in the end, its now a Wested with Cotton body / Silk sleeves.
Please let me know how you think the jacket fits.
Thanks.

For being horse, it is pretty soft and not too heavy in comparison to some a-2 jackets out there. It's definitely heavier than my Wested lambskin. I think it has a good balance of weight, thickness and drape. It feels like it can take some abuse without feeling like strapping on body armor.
