Expedition Owners - Size 40 or 42

Any Gibson & Barnes Expedition owners out there in size 40 and or 42 able to give me the armpit - armpit measurements. I'm considering an expedition to purchase in the future and would like to get the correct fit.

I measured my full chest to be 42inches so I ordered a 42R. A 40R would have fitted snugly. A 42 gives me LOTS of room to add a simple sweater. My suggestion. The size suit jacket that you wear will have the same fit as the expedition. Just my 2 cents.

Gee. The poor guy asked for an armpit to armpit measurement and you give him 2 cents?

My chest is just shy of 41 inches. Since I fall in between, I thought I ask for some measurements. I like the fit of my Wested "standard" in 42. If the expedition is similar to it's size, I would be good.

You should go with a 40R. My 42R expedition Goat measures 26" pit-to-pit, a little too much in my opinion. My chest measures exactly 42", so I'll go with the 40R next time in Lamb.

Thanks for the responses and measurement. The 42 definitely sounds too big. My current jackets are around 23in armpit to armpit and they fit just right.
