Very Nice Alternate Boots

Post by rrhanselka »

While shopping at my local haberdashery, I came across these boots in the 'Sale" rack. I couldn't believe it when I found that they had my size, so I bought them. I had them stretched a little, and they are very comfortable and GREAT-looking. When I started to look for more, I found that they were several years old and simply not available. I was crushed, so I'll take very good care of these boots and won't wear them often. They are made by Cole Haan and are quality boots. Maybe I'll have a bootmaker make me some more.

Too bad they aren't still available. Not to worry, I still bought the 405's, from Schmidty, of course, but I sure like this boot, too.

Many Thanks

Those are very nice boots. I like them alot. They seem sturdy enough though. I wouldn't worry about wearing them out. Beat the heck outta them.

Nice. Do you know the model name -- just on the off chance that they might be found in some obscure place... Thanks.

I'd wear them. They really look great, and on sale no less. It's amazing what you can find if you keep your eyes open.

Very nice. Pity they're no longer available. What were the original and sale prices?

Very Nice Alternate Boots

The name of this boot is the Monmouth model in Fudge color, part of the Country series by Cole Haan. They are fully leather-lined and retailed for $185.00. The Cole Haan factory stores say they've never heard of it, that it was probably marketted through other stores. You guys be on the lookout. They are really comfortable and a high quality boot.

Many Thanks

I just bought myself a pair of these at the spotsmans guide surplus outlet for $40.00. Nice boot, I like them, though not SA.

How do they run size wise? Are they true to size, or do they run big or small? Also, how much did you pay for them?

If anyone is interested, there is a pair of these on ebay size 10. Starting bid is $45.00, PLUS $20.00 shipping. Just type in Cole Haan boot. I contacted the guy and asked if he would end the auction with a $50 buy it now. He said he would do it for $70. Then I saw the link for the Rockport Farnums at bargainoutfitters and ordered a pair of those instead.
