Yet Another Indy Jacket EBay Scam

Post by IndyWannaBee »

Just wanted to say be careful what you bid for on eBay. I bid on a Wested IJ Raiders style jacket at $200.00 with 22 hours left on the auction. I thought it was rather suspicious that no one else was fighting over this item. One hour later I received an email that I had won the auction! Strange! Last I recall there were 22 hours maybe 21 hours left! I smelled a SCAM!

So I didn't pay! Next arrived a standard eBay notice saying if I hadn't paid to pay this amount. After that an eBay Invoice arrived. All looked legitimate but I still didn't pay because something told me not to. Well finally I received another eBay message stating that the Sellers account had been stolen and someone else was using it for evil!

Beware of scammers online! Starting to think about shutting down my entire eBay account to avoid such hassles! Buyers beware!

I'm officially done selling on ebay. Every experience I've had so far has been bad.

That's a shame. 10 years ago it was an awesome way to find rare collectibles...I picked up a sealed 12" Kenner Indy for under $30 - that was my "Rosebud" so to speak.

There was no way in hades that I'd ever have gotten one were it not for eBay.

I'm disappointed by all the shenanigans and hood-winkery that goes on there now...

I sell on eBay regularly, and have only had about 3 bad apples in over 3 yrs of selling. Or buying for that matter. I do know there are scammers on there, it's sad when they get away with @#$%. What really bugs me is soon sellers won't be able to negative feedback buyers who were a pain in the hindquarters. Only if they have done certain things can we leave negative.. but the pain bidders can negative us all day if they feel like it. :x

ok. rant over.. sorry to hear you've had that big of an issue with a seller. even sorrier that it's driving you from using the site.

randy

[EDIT]

p.s. I was surprised that word was censored. It wasn't a curse word.. just to be clear.

Unfortunately, it has been used as such in the past, and was entered in the word censor a while back.
