safe shiping

Post by ST »

I live in Canada therefore I was wondering what the safest way to get a whip across the border is. I live only 20 min. from the border and I could have it shipped to a place just on the other side, or I could have it shipped up here. What is the best way to get it across?
Thanks

I'm not sure if asking for advice on tax evasion is the best way to get questions answered on these boards, but here goes. The GST seems legal and on the up and up so I'd say ship it in the US and bring it across on your person or in your vehicle. Or just pay the tax and have it shipped direct. That's what I'd do.

Ship it in a box marked "My Pet Snake"?

I don't think we condone tax evasion here. Lucky near misses perhaps. Any concealment techniques, like having lots of rope coiled up in your trunk for instance might be considered smuggling, if not a little suspect.

I suppose it is get it shipped in as plain a package as possible with a bill for the $20 inside and hope for the best.

But hey, you have to pay for that health service somehow. We do it with $9 a gallon fuel.

I don’t know of anyone who has had a issue just taking a bullwhip across the boarder into Canada or bringing one back into the U.S., but just to be clear IndyGear.com and Club Obi-Wan does not condone or in any way recommend attempting to evade import dutys and taxes fees.
