Now here's a set of authentic boots

These boots are WW I British (I think) infantry boots. I know they are not a perfect Alden match but when I saw them (in a museum in the UK) they jumped out at me as being "Indy Gear".

I really think Indy's gear is a combination of some interesting Australian pieces ("Australian" model of HJ, bullwhip), and clothes/uniform from his WW I service.

I have my own vintage boots...They officially went on semi-retirement TODAY, as it so happens...Ironic that this subject should come up. These have been my close-enoughs for years, as I bought them at a now-defunct surplus store in the late 80's in Florida.

They're 1941-vintage British 'Ammo Boots'. These were issued to British troops in WWII. They were originally hobnails (which really ticked some people off, especially the ones with hardwood floors) and now have a non-slip rubber sole applied to the underside to keep my butt in unfractured shape (Hobnails offer NO traction on smooth surfaces).

I'll still wear them on very special Indy occasions, but my Rockport Farnums arrived today to take the brunt of my abuse. Enjoy.

Great boots PyramidBlaster! What they lack in SA, they make up for in period feel and character. Thanks for sharing.

AttheFront.com had a reproduction of that style of boot – albeit a lighter color. I was considering them at one time before I got my Rockports. They are probably a little more like what Indy would have truly worn IMO…

That's a really nice boot and at a fantastic price, but their sizing seems odd. I think I could order and wear a pair, but a lot of people would probably be disappointed.

anzac those boots are unusual i dont think there ww1 because the toe area is a little bit too bulky. they might be ww1 though.

Panama Tom Jr.,
those boots arent repros of the brittish boots above because those boots pictured are ww2 infantrymans service boots because of the rubber soles, double stitched toe cap and mainly the colour and the eyelets.
but i do agree the us servicemans boots are definately indyish especialy the corocan style version which is higher for jungle trekking because there highet and are watertight.

Giben,
I should have specified - the atthefront.com boot is a similar reproduction to Pyramidblaster's boots - not exact, but pretty darn close...
