Not from what I've heard. I've heard the color was too brownish. The bag was definitely a greenish color. Some have said the bag was a brown color but if they'd just adjust their tint or look at the thousands of photos of screen bags the truth would be seen. I don't have one of these bags myself and could be totally wrong but from those I've spoken to on this subject, this is the vibe.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that there are a lot of opinions on the WPG bag on this board. Owning one myself, I can say that it’s always nice to have the real thing if you don’t mind searching for it or dealing on eBay and can find one that doesn’t cost too much, and smell like wet laundry. I can also say that the bag itself seems stiffer when you first get it, but otherwise is very study and an excellent substitute. The first thing you’ll likely want to do is change the strap if you are trying for that ‘authentic’ look. The color is also as agent5 suggests above, a little more tan than green.

You can see, and read the difference on the IndyGear site if you haven’t already:

However, I’ve found the link on the page does not work and you can get to WPG here:

I have owned a few original bags and always find that color varies. My W&G, which is in superb condition, is a green/khaki color. I know that if I washed it enough it would eventually fade to tan. Though i do not own a WPG bag perhaps this previsously posted link may help.

I forget who originally posted it, and cannot seem to find the thread. These pictures seem to portray the WPG bag as the perfect color in my opinion. Enjoy!

The WPG bag is an excellent bag! It's survived the harshness of Alaska and the tropical climate of Mexico, not to mention many campouts. I couldn't be more happy with my WPG bag! I prefer it over my original bag because it's new and I don't have to worry over ripping it or anything. The stiching is top-notch also. If you want an EXCELLENT bag get the WPG bag. If you dont like the strap order one from Noel Howard or Lee Keppler. I must admit the color is a little light for Raiders but just because of a little difference in color does not mean you shouldnt get it. It is the most usefull piece of gear, IMHO. You'll get many years of faithful service out of it. If you have any questions PM or Email me!

Hey there Indy007!

Is that the bag I sold to ya, lol? :D

Yea, the WPG bag is well-made indeed. Its a Green / Tan color (with more tan than green). But all of the original MKV II and MKV I bags varied from color to color. I have 3 original MKV II bags and each varies in their color. One, in fact, looks identical in color to the WPG bag. Order with confidence!

Yes, I did forget to mention that alot of the original bags also vary in color but if I didn't want to spend the money on an original bag then the WPG would seem to me to be the logical and only other way to go.

I've got a couple original bags for my "costume" and the repro for daily use. It's great. And the price is right for a excellent tough as nails bag that you're not afraid to use and abuse. I did change out the strap thou.

I like my WPG bag so much that I plan to purchase a spare. It is truly one of the most useful pieces of gear.

I love these bags. I use them for just about everything. One is my lunch box, one is in the car, three for work, etc. I don't know what I did without them!
