Hi Holt!

The pants from orvis (Officer's pinks) are definitely more LC colour oriented but they aren't pleated. From the L.L. Bean line I would suggest you the microfiber dress pants colour taupe which they are very raiders. Search in the forum for that thread.
In any case, colourwise the pants that L.L. Bean offers are very close they even have back pockets and they are pleated...I don't know about the design on the body though. However, if you want them only for casual clothing and on a cheap price then go for it.

Holt ive just ordered magnoli pants because of the taper of the wested at the bottom which i think ive spoke to you about.... But the colour of the wested i think are flawless for Raiders style and can only hope magnolis pants are the same in colour too..

I think it's all a matter of taste and light...in order for you to decide better follow this link. It should be very helpful:
http://indylounge.proboards105.com/inde ... thread=503

You will see that the differences between Wested and Raiders is tiny but apparent.

Does anyone have a comparison photo between the LL Bean microfiber Taupe and the Magnoli trousers?

Great info indygr! I was very impressed with my Wested pants but didn't realize how close they were to the NH pants. Lots of threads (no pun intended) lately about the Wested pants and lack of SA. It's hard to find something to satisfy everyone but the pics in the link say allot, at least as far as color.

I've never seen the Magnoli pants in person so I cannot comment on them, but I will say that the Wested pants are very close to the NH pants. Very close. You may have to have them taken in a a bit in the legs as I think they're too baggy, but the color and material are great. Would never recommend their shirt but the pants I'd recommend any day.

In this thread there is a shot of my gear with the Bean Microfibers, so you can see some color comparison with other pieces of gear:
viewtopic.php?p=392142#392142

The only thing I can tell from picture comparisons is that the Magnolis have possibly a little more grey to them. The micro's have a touch of rose or pink to them, but then again there are shots in the three movies that you see the same hue. The micros are also not a heavy weight material by any stretch - better as a casual or dress pant or maybe for costuming. If you want field khakis, look elsewhere. But they do have that comfort waist band, which helps those of us with fluctuating waistlines...

Holt... the wested are brilliant in alot of ways.. but. If you have a pair of aldens the problem will become aparant straight away.. indys pants should reach at the front the second lace of the boot in my reconing and to the heal at the back.. E.G. (look at the new trailer when indy pics his hat up!!!) the wested will leave so much of the boot showing, they taper to much were as a custom fit magnoli pair wont do this if you give the right measurements... I havent recieve my magnoli's and am worried of the colour variance... does anyone know how to dye a pair of pants if your not happy with the colour???

Just order the Wested trousers unfinished(In the order form state 'unfinished') and let a local tailor to adapt them!

Hi,
The closest pants to Raiders pants (not to the NH pants) are the "paris pants" which I was offering previously and going to offer again very soon.
The Paris pants mkii are based on an original extremely hard to find model of officer pinks pants that have the exact fit and pocket flap shape as the Raiders pants.

More about that soon.

It always amazes me how every picture of the Wested pants folded makes them look light grey, but every pic of the pants on somebody make them look brown.

One question of simple curiosity... For a person who wears trousers with waist 34 what size would you recommend for Wested trousers in order to look more indy-ish :)
a) order a 34
or
b) order a 36 and reduce the waist to 34 to make it more baggy?
Any recommendations appreciated!

I personally think they are baggy enough for a 34. My usual jeans size is 34 too.

I believe the Orvis "pinks" are no longer available. If you try to order, they note this.

Does anyone have both the LL Bean Chinos and the LL Bean Microfiber? How do they compare in color, material, and ability to iron out the creases?
