US Wings Sizing...

Post by PyramidBlaster »

OK, I'm ordering a standard goat U.S. Wings in the next couple of weeks---I have a treasured old G-8 that was my close-enough in the late 80's, that i'll never, ever fit again...That i'm replacing.

I'm a practical man, and absolute SA isn't as important to functionality. I looked at the Flightsuits jacket, which is nice...but the pictures of the huge back gussets bug the heck out of me. So, it's U.S. Wings...Maybe in a couple of years a Wested Goat.

The sizing chart on U.S. wings site is all over the place. To me, the chest circumference doesn't match the weight scale. I'm like a 46, but i'm in the 260's as opposed to the posted '190' weight range for this size. The spare tire is going away, but I want to make sure I'll fit the jacket now. Ideas, from those who have Wings jackets?

And i'm thinking about a long. I'm 5'11". Any feedback on that one?

The reason I ask you guys instead of U.S. Wings, is that I think the group collective here will have more input than a single person over there (no offense, Sarge...)

I'm 6 feet 1 1/2" tall, and weigh 215. I usually wear a 44R with no problems, and a Wings large works for me.

Yeah, I'm looking at the XL.

I wish to God I could still wear the G-8. I know this jacket polarizes a lot of people in the Fanbase, but let me tell you---That was one #ell of a jacket. Who says Goat doesn't naturally distress? Mine did. It took YEARS, and the cut is just awesome. Lots of adventures in that one. It's like armor fer God's sake....I ought to post pictures.

I'm like 5'10", 230 and have two U.S. Wings A2s in XL. Works fine. In fact, I used one of them for the dustjacket photo of a forthcoming book.

It's definitely looking like XL.

And if I continue to lose weight, I can justify an oversize jacket...I seem to remember a comment somewhere in the Indy mythology that his clothes were 'just a little looser than normal' for purposes of an action-packed existence....

5'7" 190lbs (but I carry it well). The USW Medium fits me perfectly. In any case, one of the great things about USW is that you can always exchange it with no problems whatsoever if it doesn't fit. The customer service at USW is amazing.

I'm 6'3", 200 lbs. and was wondering if I should do a Large long or XL long. Going by their size chart, I'm closer to a XL due to my weight and neck size. Ideas? :?

....anxiously watching this thread- plan on ordering my jacket Monday, but still haven't settled on manufacturer yet. My problem is I'm 6'3, 190 pounds, with orangutan long arms. US Wings has the Large Long available, but after seeing Bigrex' pictures in the other thread, I'm not too sure on them. Wested is customizeable...but I see that's still hit or miss.

Michaelson,
How long are the sleeves on a Large? And thanks for the PM response. I may get a Large Long but I also have long arms like CitRon. A custom Todd is way too much for me. I wish. :(
