Pagey whip-holder

Post by Mulceber »

I've been having some difficulty with having my whip-holder (a Todd's one) grip my bullwhip tightly - it always seems to slip, which is a never-ending source of irritation. I've seen the adjustable whip-holders that Pagey has on his site and I was wondering how well they work. Do they grip the whip any better than the Todd's holder? Thanks, :junior: -M

I've got one of Ben Scott's (whipartist.com I think) and it is great. This is the same as Pagey's I believe. I've been on two major walks with a 10 foot (lead weighted handle) bullwhip and no slip. None! I went for a short jog each time too and still no slip. This was with the handle hanging down about 160 or 170 degrees from the vertical, not the 'fake snake' 90 degree position (Well of Souls scene). Also, I found if I had the handle hanging vertically downwards (180 degrees) there was a bit too much swing in the whip and it became uncomfortable - a bit like an elephant walking along with his trunk swinging from side to side. With the handle slightly closer to the holder the swing disappeared.

The whip comes off the belt fast too. A perfect holder for those who might in real life want to carry a whip around in a practical fashion in South American jungles, and use it quickly if necessary. I just do it 'cause it's fun.
