New wested Lambskin... does it fit right tho??

Post by AVbat »

Hi all, just got my wested standard lamb size 44 and i must say it is easily one of the most comfortable, if not the most comfortable, jacket i have ever worn. I love the jacket, but i feel that it is too short in the body. Depending on what pants i wear with it, the bottom of the jacket barely clears the bottom of my belt. What to you fellas think? Please let me know...

Looks great, I would say that the length is perfect. Is that a standard off the rack?

Hey AVbat, congrats on the jacket. It looks great.

As far as the length goes, I would say it depends on what look you are going for and what you will be comfortable with. My Wested looks considerably less "Indy" when I wear it with my everyday clothes, a look not unlike you are sporting...jeans, un-tucked t shirt etc. When worn with the rest of my gear it takes on more of the "look"! As far as being Screen Accurate, remember, that is a very subjective and elusive thing. Unless you are a clone of Ford and in the clothes to match it's always going to look slightly off.

If how you are dressed in the pictures is how you will normally wear the jacket then you have to ask yourself if YOU like it. If yes, then it's a keeper.
If it's gonna bug you then I say (unfortunately) start over.

IMO for everyday wear a jacket needs to hang below the bottom of an untucked T-shirt. Of course you're not too far off and the rest of the fit looks good. If it were mine I'd be exchanging it for a longer jacket because I generally wear mine with jeans and a t-shirt so and I just cant stand my shirt tail hanging lower than my jacket. I guess it all depends on what you'll be wearing it with and how you prefer the jacket to fit. A lot of members here prefer to wear their jackets just barely below the waist but as I said it's just not my thing. If you are not interested in SA and just want a cool looking jacket I'd say exchange it for a longer one.
