Problems with Alden Of Carmel

Post by rrhanselka »

I have e-mailed Aldens-of Carmel 3 times asking if they have my size in the AF-64 Indy Brown boot in stock. I have not heard a word from them. They don't have time to answer me about a $405.00 boot? Give me a break. I think I'll go elsewhere.

Has anyone else had this experience? I was going to order the standard boot, the 405 also, but not now. I can get them somewhere else.

Many thanks

Thats really odd.

Try calling them. IndyBlues is buying a pair,
and they have been giving him great service from my understanding.

Actually, they were communicating back and forth by email quite a bit...
probably just a fluke or something...try again.

Yes, correspondence with Adam was fantastic. He may be out sick, or on vacation.
I wouldn't give up on them just yet.

I will add that I have never had poor communication with them.

I just bought a pair of AF64s from them and couldn't fault their communication. Adam generally responded to my emails very quickly considering the time difference. He refused to sell me the boots until he was convinced I was ordering the correct size which annoyed me slightly to begin with but turned out to be the right thing to do as I was going to order a size too large.
I'm sure you'll find there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for this.

Ya gotta pick up the phone man. That's the only way to order stuff, plus you get to meet some great folks.

Peter, Richard, Noel...all folks I've talked to on the phone who've offered great stories and service. Alden was no different when I called them.

Also, it IS possible that your email account is being sent to their Spam box depending on who your email client it. If you're using something like Hotmail, Yahoo or G-Mail, some business servers will outright reject the address because they tend to get so much Spam emails.

Just a thought...

Finally, I heard from Adam, after placing an order for the AF-64 boot. He allows that he has returned my e-mails, but I haven't got them. He also says he tried to call me, but my phone won't accept his call. I'll take him at his word and keep trying.

That picking up the phone and calling is a great idea, except the phone number isn't on the website. I'll try the vendors section, but if anyone has a phone number, I'd sure appreciate it.

Many Thanks
