New to COW and just ordered a Keppler "Raiders"

Post by DR Ulloa »

I have been scanning both Indy Gear and COW for a good week now and my account was just activated. My check is en-route to Lee for a "Raiders" fedora and I should be recieving it in four to six weeks. I'm thinking about also ordering an Adventurebilt, but is it too early to order since I haven't even recieved my Keppler yet? Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself to the great members of Club Obi Wan. So, Hi!

Welcome and congrats on the Keppler.

As far as the AB, nothing wrong with putting the order in right now, many of the members here order an AB but buy another fedora to have while waiting for the AB.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the suggestions. I sent Steve a PM yesterday and an e-mail earlier today so I can place the order with him. Hopefully he will contact me soon so I can order one as soon as possible.

Yeah, Lee was great. We spoke for about half an hour on everything from Indy (go figure) to firearms to idiocracy.

I agree, Lee is a great guy to talk to. I spoke to him while ordering my friend one of his fedoras.

Welcome to the madness - you've come for the gear but you'll stay for the people.

Let me know if I can do anything for you.

Thanks Renderking. Your right, the people is really the reason why I joined. I could have aquired all the info I needed on gear I needed without registering, built my Indy wardrobe and left, but everybody seems really...cool, for lack of a better word. Now that you mention it Renderking, I could have someone give me a hand with the lawn next week (sarcasm doesn't translate too well in written word does it?).

Is there a phone number I can reach Steve Delk at becuase I hate ordering stuff through e-mail. I hate the back and forth and the waiting that e-mailing entails. I prefer to get everything over and done with in one shot.

I don't think Steve is answering his phone these days as he is a busy man. Your best bet is email, and maybe try to set up a time for a phone call in the email.

That would make sense. Just thought it might be easier for both of us that way.

Wow, It gets that expensive that Golf is considered cheap! Well, I've ordered the Keppler fedora already and am ordering an AB this week as well so I am already spending close to $400 in fedoras alone. I better hold off on the whip before I tick off my fiance too much.

New to COW and just ordered a Keppler "Raiders"

Post by rrhanselka »

Since we all need someone to blame for our shortcomings, I've decided to blame this Forum and all of you guys for my addiction. I won't say it's your fault, just that I'm going to blame you.

I, too, have a Keppler's Fedora on order, as well as, several others, including, an AB, a PB, a Camptown, and a JPD. In addition, I have an Akubra Deluxe Fed and an Akubra Adventurer. Is that sick or what? Of the two I've received, the Akubra Adventurer is terrific. The brim comes preformed like an Indy Fedora, so all you have to do is bash the crown. The Fed Deluxe is a different story. I'm having trouble with the brim.

Will post photos as soon as I find a photo-sharing site.

Many Thanks

I'd like to see some pics of Fed and the Adventurer. I'm thinking, maybe the Fed IV might be a good everyday wearer. I know Michaelson worked personally on the new Fed so it might be a good choice to go with; but I probably won't order anything else until I can re-coop my lost funds for both the Keppler and the AB.

Welcome to the club. I'm new too and also ordered a Keppler awhile back, still waiting...Lee says the wait is 6-8 weeks or thereabouts, he's waiting for more hats to come in from his supplier. I'm going on about 5 weeks now so hopefully soon a box will be arriving at my door!

As a second hat I went with the Camptown, Ken has a sale on until the end of May that is too good to pass up.

I also see from Steve that he has an apprentice now and hopes to have wait times reduced to 6 months soon!!! Everyone has to have 1 AB, but I'm going to wait awhile until he gets things settled down then order my AB. In the meantime I'll be playing in the dirt and rain with my other 2 hats. \:D/

Well I "officially" ordered my AB from Steve on Monday. He said that it would be ready by Fall which means he has cut the lead time down to 5-7 months depending on which month in Fall I recieve the fed in. If I could have it for Halloween that would be Awsome! I will probably get a new Federation when they come out but make that as close to the Cairo Bash. I'll probably beat it up, throwing in the sand and have a herd of elephants stampeed over it to get that "well loved" Cairo look.

You could try rolling in the dirt then out in the rain, next accidentally step on it twice!!! Then find a nice homey cave full of spider webs and explore, finally have a horse stamp on it in the rain within a huge mud puddle...

Add horse instant Cairo!

I guess I'll have to go find a horse to tick off and make him give chase. Should be fun.
