Best bag strap buckle

Post by Raider1138 »

I recently obtained a nice strap for my MK VII bag and I was wondering if anyone could give any tips on where to obtain an accurate buckle to go along with the strap. I've tried most of the local stores and it seems like most of the buckles are plastic now or aren't the correct size/shape. The closest thing I've found so far is a buckle from a dog collar but it's still not quite what I'm looking for. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I too searched high and low for an accurate buckel, and I found that they don't make them easily avalible. The Best strap I have is on my WPG bag, a Lee Keppler strap, he has the BEST strap on the market!

Check out: www.adventure-supply.com to order one.

I personally like the NH strap better for the color only. The Keppler belt is alot more supple but the color is too red, just like his Raiders holster. If he could clear up the color issue on both they would be 100%, you can't get any better, top of the line. The buckle IS the best out there and I've searched the web quite a bit for a match. I came back to Keppler and you should too. Best one you'll find.

I think, personally, for Raiders, it would be a weathered brown, but still brown. But for Last Crusade, definatly black.

The issue is that I just had a bag strap custom made that had more of the look of the NH strap and is a nice weathered brown but the guy who made that strap only had silver buckles that were 1"x2". I recently found a buckle that may suffice, but I'm not sure that it's completely accurate. Anyone know exactly what the screen used buckle looked like?

Go to the scene where Indy is getting punched in the stomach and being lifted off the ground by the nazi mechanic by the plane. If you slow-mo it you can see the buckle perfectly. Actually it's just like the NH but the edges are thinner. The buckle is definitly flat and not rounded at all. Still, I'd say the Keppler is THE one you want until the perfect one is found, but I won't hold my breath if it hasn't been found yet.
