Out of curiousity, I would like to know if this problem is specific to me, or has anyone else had this problem?
On my jackets that are thinner (in thickness), I seem to have a strange problem with the back panel. When I first get it brand new out of the box, the back panel lays perfectly. Even unzipped, it lays against my back almost as if there were a minor static-cling issue, if that image helps at all...
However, after a few months of regular use (and no sidestrap adjustment... none!), the back panel for some reason seems to 'loosen up', and instead of laying flat against my back, begins to jut outwards either towards one end of the back panel (left or right), or formed a semi-circle shape in the center of the bottom of the backpanel.
Any help would be appreciated!

No, the jackets I'm talking about are custom specs. It doesn't do it on all of the jackets, but only on two of the thin ones. Once again, when the jackets were new, they flattened against my back (and did not stick out), but gradually they began to stick out. I'm going with Last Crusade as my point of reference, since that's the basic pattern almost all my jackets start with, and in that movie it seems that the jackets there flattens against Ford's back.
I get the same effect. I don't think we can help it. The leather is soft and does that. One cure that may work is to wet the back panel, and let it dry naturally. That's true I guess. Another thing I've noticed is that the waist on the jacket isn't as snug as it was when I first got it two months ago... And no, I seriously doubt I've lost any weight since my pants all fit exactly the same. The softer the jacket, the stretchier the jacket, I suppose.PLATON wrote:I get the same effect. Yeah, but it also looks like he's got the side straps tightened to the tearing point. Let's face it, they don't care that it'll eventually destroy the jacket -- they use it for twelve weeks or however long it takes principle photography to wrap, then discard it.
