sleeves length on 44 wested goat

Post by Holt »

Hi.the sleeves on my new goat have started to anoy me a bit.
if this still buggs me after a few days I will put this jacket up for sale and get a new one with shorter sleeves..

just for fun I measured the sleeves on my 44 lamb.they were 65 cm
and then I mesured the sleeves on my 44 goat.and they were 68 cm

when two jackets are made in the same cut aren't the sleeves supposed to be the same length???

The sleeve will ride up a bit with wear when the wrinkles form properly on the sleeves and 'set' you'll loose a little length in the sleeves. But you need to give the jacket a bit of time to wear in, by that I mean 2-3 months.

But if it bothers you, take it to some one who does leather alteration locally, it's a very simple modification and should not cost a lot at all. Remember to state you dont want visible stitching on the cuff! I've heard horror stories of jackets coming back with stitching around the cuff, like on the bottom of jeans!!

It may be one of the 2 jackets was actually made as a long rather than a reg.

the wested Lamb 44 I measured on has not been weared at all.it has been hanging in the closet since I had the cut in the back.

so....that wested has not have the sleeves wrinkeled up yet.no wrinkels and hang strait almost....that's why it bothers me abit with my goat sleeve length cut compared to the lamb

If you are satisfied with the fit of the jacket I would opt for having the sleeves altered locally after you have worn it a while. That way you will be able to have the tailor mark it up while its on you and you will know what you are getting back.
