Ribbon Width:: Updated
I just got my Todd's replacement ribbon today [along with my jar of dirt.. err Fuller's] And it looks overwhelmingly narrow. I measured it at just shy of 1 1/2 inch wide. Is this even remotely screen accurate? It seems even narrower than the existing ribbon on my hat.

OOPS , Well, here it is anyway... http://www.dalexs.whitvani.net/
I also am having trouble reading today. I missed the NON part of the flying v tutorial. Sorry about that, I will go back to my cornner now.

What, you gotta problem with that image?theinterchange wrote:that was a link to an image..but his tutorial is for a flying v. I had already looked at it.
The tutorial is pretty much the same for any re-ribbin job. Just modify how you make the center pinch for the bow.
Most bows just have a basic pinch in the middle to form the fold.

It may be that particular run of ribbon, or it may be sized in lignes.I just got my Todd's replacement ribbon today [along with my jar of dirt.. err Fuller's] And it looks overwhelmingly narrow. I measured it at just shy of 1 1/2 inch wide. Is this even remotely screen accurate? It seems even narrower than the existing ribbon on my hat
You can buy the 1 1/2 inch ribbon from folks like Schiff, but not in a dark, dark brown. I don't think they use the ligne system of measuring.
I could be wrong on this as it has been awhile since I bought new ribbon, other than what I get from Marc. But I have a roll of black Schiff ribbon that I pulled off some to put on a gray hat today. I measured it and it was dead on 1 1/2 inches. It said so on the end of the roll too. Much of my vintage stock comes in the ligne sizing. Seems like in this sizing, you never hit an exact 1 1/2 inches. Always above it, or below it. Fedora
