There, I said it. I'm going after another jacket. Hopefully Peter will be at the QM and I will be measured for a new jacket. I want it slimmer(in the slim pattern) but I want it somewhat durable if not rally durable and I want it to distress well. My last two jackets have been cowhide, not much of a distresser, although my latest has been showing wear signs.
What shall I do? If I get lamb, I'll just hang on to the oversized cow I have currently to wear in the mountains. But I'd like an all-purpose jacket, you know, in order to fullfill my ten year old fantasy of being a world travelled archeologist. Even though I'm a puppeteer in Anaheim, who's most recent adventurous experience to date has been being shot with a suction-cup dart gun outside an acting studio in Burbank.
Help.
Does goat distress like lamb?

Ah-ha! Then to you Mike, I ask, Does it distress as easily as lamb? I also like a darker brown than the authentic. I know it isn't entirely screen accurate, but to me the jacket will always be a little darker than it actually was. And I'll say it, I liked the more rounded edged cargo pockets.
Thanks for your respnse, M.

I prefer the darker brown myself. I have seen the authentic in person and when I first saw it, maybe it was the artificial light (it was night time) but it did seem a bit grey to me. Now admittedly when I watched Raiders again and conpared it to the opening scene it was a pretty much dead match colour wise but personally for scenes like the truck chase I prefer the original dark brown myself.

In terms of "easiness," goat is much tougher than lamb so it will take much more to distress a goat. Already mentioned were the color of the highlights so if it's just 'how easy' it is to distress the hide, lambskin will distress more quickly b/c it is nowhere near as durable as goatskin.CapKimmel wrote:Ah-ha!
