New Wested and US Authentic

Post by kobol »

Good Day,
I thought I share pictures of my 2 new acquisitions. They are a Wested Standard Raiders in Horsehide and a seal brown US Authentic A-2 in horsehide.
The Wested just arrived today and the US Authentic 1 week ago. Though both are horsehide, the US Authentic is definitely thicker, stiffer and heavier. The Wested feels like a featherweight in comparison. Both are size 42 and I look forward to now breaking in the Wested a little.
I have nothing but compliments to Wested. I was told they made the the standards in horsehide on a made to order basis. Well just a little over 2 weeks and I have it. The also sent me an order confirmation email and a completion email so I would know it's on it's way. US Authentic was able to ship the same day of the order. I can find no flaws in either jacket and I suspect they will be with me for a very long time.

Those are two beautiful Horsehide jackets. The color of the Wested is much darker than the A-2. Man your Wested looks really good especially the pockets, did you specify anything in your Wested order?? Is that a custom or just an off the rack Horsehide?? Those jackets just look awesome, I can't get enough of them. Wear those jackets well kobol, you should definately proud to wear them. I think I got to get a Wested in Horsehide sometime, just looks great. :D Great purchase on both jackets.

They both look great! We're in the same boat as I got my Wested today as well. Congratulations!  Would love to see pictures of them on in outdoor lighting just to better gage the color comparison better. The A-2 looks to be more of a russet or bridle/harness leather color while the Wested looks more chocolate. In any case they look great!

Cheers!

Just a standard Wested off the rack.
The Wested's horsehide is definitely darker and unlike in feel and texture than my A-2. But I like them both. Now I just have to break them in. I was just going to order one of the premium A-2s out there. But instead I opted for the US Authentic so I could fulfill both desires. Two jackets for the price of one Premium A-2. I'm not a stitch counter or overly into 100% accuracy / screen accuracy, so both jackets serve my wants and needs, at least for now.

Daniel Jones:
Well congrats on receiving your jacket. I'm sure you are just a happy as I am. I'll try and get some outdoor pics as soon as I can. The indoor lighting makes the A-2 appear a lighter brown than it is outside.
