New member and New Wested

Hello all
I'm a new member but looong time Indy fan - I saw LC at the cinema when I was 19 having caught up with ROTLA and TOD on video before that.

I guess, like many, the new film is bringing it all back. I remember when there was no gear for the discerning Indy fan so it's great that there's now all this choice out there. I recently received my first Wested and am thrilled with it - 42R off the rack and fits like a glove. In fact, it's such a good fit I'm tempted to get another quickly in case the sizings change! Here's a pic (I hope!) and coincidentally some old artwork of mine over my shoulder - TOD inspired!

I have some Todd gloves on the way and I'm weighing up an AB hat - I know the wait will be long and I'm also wondering whether I have the guts to wear it out of the house!

Here's a shot of the artwork...

I painted it many years ago. I used to be really into matte paintings in films and used my trusty copy of 'Industrial Light and Magic - The Art of Special Effects' for guidance on this painting. It has elements of the 'emerging on the cliff chased by water' scene from TOD and, now I come to think of it, a little bit of 'the leap of faith' from LC too. Part of me would like to see the old-fashioned matte paintings in KOTCS but I'm sure the CGI will be spot on.

Thanks, Jack. I've read some of the stuff on here about distressing but the lambskin is so soft I think I'll just leave it up to adventurous living!

Welcome to COW Alex. Dig on the jacket! Is it lamb or goat? I have one in goat on the way, maybe it will show up today. You're has a great looking fit.

I haven't painted in quite a while - was intending to get back into it this year. It's fun to adopt the matte painter's technique which is quite loose but when you stand back from it or film it (or photograph it!) details become 'sharper' and more realistic. The Indy films are the best for brilliantly designed and executed matte shots.

DoubleOhSeven, yes it's the 'authentic'.

Dan, lambskin - really soft so not sure how much thrashing under a truck it would take but the advantage is it drapes really well. I've got a classic 'driving jacket' from aero leather in black horsehide and I can barely move in it (let alone drive in it!

) and I've had it 8 years - amazing quality though (really creaky!) so I could use some of the distressing tips on here on that jacket maybe...
