hi..I am sorry if this has been discussed before....
I was browsing the US wings site and they say they have all the features of the Indy jacket...but I was wondering if all the features is in the right place?
like the backpannel....it looks like it's much smaller in width and dont meet the yoke seams in the top of the backpannel, wich automaticly makes the pleats much wider.right?
and the straps is missing the box where the x stich is supposed to be and that makes it more LC
anybody knows why this is?
thanks

I can't speak to why US Wings made the choices they did, but I will say this; There off the rack jacket lays on me much better than my custom Wested. The pleats look neater, and the straps are less troublesome... and appear to suffer no problems by not being attatched exactly the same way. I think Wings decided to go for a good lokking jacket more than any attempt at screen accuracy.

I completely agree with Chewbacca Jones. My Wings jacket is my most comfortable Indy jacket. As for the back panel, both of my Westeds fall short across the back too, identical to the Wings jacket. As for the straps, I have 2 different configurations on my Westeds, one with integrated straps on the back panel, and one with externally attatched x-box stitched straps. I wouldn't fault Wings for their design, and as far as the back panel, my Wested jackets are no closer to accurate in those details than the Wings, and Wings makes no claim that their jacket was made from the original pattern. I love all three, and I have nothing but good things to say about my Wings jacket. I have always wondered myself why these vendors go to the effort of designing, making, and advertising an Indy jacket and somehow miss the detailing on the back panel. Even if you are paying only casual attention to the movies you can see quite clearly that the back panel extends all the way accross to the sleeves, it is in several close ups in all three films. But, with few exceptions, that is not what you get. I wouldn't burn myself out trying to figure out why or make them change it. If your thinking about getting the Wings jacket, know that there are some differences between it and what you see on the screen, but overall it looks very Indy and is an extremely durable and good looking jacket.
