AB ordered yestrday

Post by ST »

Thats the truth of the matter, but newyears eve it's finally been ordered. I'm kind of a new member so this is my first post. :D But O man I'm so excited. \:D/  :D This will be my first real Indy Gear gear. I had from ebay a junk fedora wanabe and a pethetic excuse for a whip that I rebraided. Well the next thing is a whip I guess. Anyway I have nothing eles to say so I'll say, see ya later.

I'm not sure what's going on either. I think I placed my order in Nov. We got the measurements and specifics down but I've been trying to confirm how much to send and I haven't been able to reach Steve.

The wait time can be a little unsettling, but worth it in the end.
I've been waiting since April 30th of last year, for a replacement hat.
There was a mistake in the brim size on the one I ordered back in October of '06, and when I received that one, Steve promised me a replacement. I think with all of the KOTCS excitement, I may have been lost in the shuffle. Then again, Steve is a busy man.

You are not placed on the list until you have paid, so you are still not in line for one.

So do you just send the $225 (with the COW discount) plus some amount for shipping ($10)?

Put my check in the mail for my Crystal Skull fedora yesterday.
I know I am in for a long wait... but ... I already have an Adventurebilt, so the wait will not be so bad.

No I think Indy 13 is confused. The prices for AB's USED TO BE $250 but being a member here could get you a $25 discount. Fedora has since upped the price to $350 (largely due to his catastrophic lead times) and so thus, the discount price for COW members is now $325. :junior: -M

Yikes!!!! I knew nothing about the discount for COW members. I just order an AB in the TOD style. Paid through PAYPAL . My total was $360.00. I was never asked abouit being a member of COW.

Ya you might want to check out the vendors sections on that. There is a COW discount price and it is 235 including shipping. That will expire on May 22nd this year. If you already ordered your hat through his website then you may want to contact him and see what he can do. The only way to paypal him for a discount is to go to paypal and send it to his e-mail address. Or you can send him a check in the mail. I just sent him a check in the mail so hoepfully he gets it soon. :D

Here I am trying to decide between a AB Deluxe and an AB. If they way I read the discount means an AB is $235 shipped, then I could order one today. I was planning on saving up for an AB Deluxe because of the nasty exchange rate (Not complaining at Marc, just how my country is going in the tank financially). I just want an AB to go with my office attire as well as dates with the wife, who gave me the OK to get another fedora. Any clarification would be great.

When I ordered from Steve in January he said in email: "The price is still 225 plus 10 shipping for COW members, and will be that price until the film releases. Thanks. Steve"

Send Steve an and email and tell him you're a member of COW, complete with your forum name etc. He'll confirm the information, then get back to you with the price.

WOW!!! This is frustrating. I've called Steve at Adventurebilt to ask about the price since I paid $360.00 and the COW discount. I've also e-mailed him 3 times. I haven't heard anything yet.

I've called Camptown Hats and e-mailed Ken at that location trying to buy a hat. I haven't got a response.

I've e-mailed Lee Keppler and intend to call him later, again, trying to buy a hat.

I've never had so much trouble trying to give my money away.

dude- you sound just like I did about 6 weeks ago. I finally gave up and ordered a Federation Deluxe.
Hang in there- keep tryng Lee. He emailed me back within a day. Evryone says they get him right away when they call, though.
Ken at Camptown had a lot of things going on, and we just couldn't get together, but I hear He's back up and running. I got him by sending a pm here, and I think if you go to his site at Camptown, there are 2 emails for him.

This is indeed frustrating. I can't even find the thread where Steve offered the COW discount. I don't want to bother him with yet another email, so if anyone gets a post-order reduction in the price, please let us know. By all accounts, Steve sounds like a great guy, but it seems it might be about time he thought about hiring someone to work a few hours a week to answer calls and respond to emails. Increased efficiency = increased productivity.

Guys... you really need to use the search function. This was easy.

In search area:
1) type in: discount
2) author: fedora
3) hit the submit button.

Yuu will see a thread here:
viewtopic.php?p=359055#359055

Where fedora shares his frustration over the miscommunication on the COW discount. He writes this on 12/26/2007!

Sorry. I plead the noob defense. Anyway, I just read Steve's posts and respect his decision regarding making pricing adjustments after someone has already placed their order. I guess long time membership at COW does have it's privileges. Considering what a gentlemen he has been, and how everyone seems to have nothing but high praise for him, I for one will not blame him because I missed out on the discount. That's life.
