ROTLA jacket with SA patterns

Post by Holt »

Hi.well I can not say how happy I am with this jacket in words.I had one HUGE smile on my face when I put it on.

yes it's different from the standard jacket..only because the standard was made more for daily wear so it had afew custom differences on it

the ROTLA offer jacket is in my eyes one true copy from the raiders jacket used in the film.

the draping is AMAZING.it drapes like thin and soft silk.
and it's more light weight then the standard jacket.it feels like wearing a shirt.the sleeves are more tappered and it's a good fit to the body and still leaves alot of movement when it's zipped.the jacket has no inside leather facings.the sidestraps are on max loose so I still can do a little adjusting if I want to

the funny thing is that the jacket fits me like it was made custom for me...
it's just a authentic brown 42 of the rack jacket.the only I asked for but did not get was I did not want D-rings I wanted rectangulars

but I can recommend this jacket to everyone.it's AMAZING

sorry for the bad quality on the photos..my other camera is in for service
what do you guys think of it?
Edit

and Peter if you are reading this you have one happy customer

Those rings are easily replaced too, Holt. All you'll need is a pair of plyers.

Drop Peter/Gemma a line and tell them you want a set of rectangular rings sent to you.

LOOKS GREAT!!!

Be sure you ask them to send the sliders in a sturdy container. Peter mistakenly sent out his first stonewashed denim Indy jackets with D Rings and offered to send the replacement sliders to anyone who wanted them for free.

I requested the replacement set, and received only 1 slider in a torn flimsy envelope. After emailing Gemma about the problem, I received 1 more slider in another torn envelope. Either someone at Wested is fond of silly practical jokes, or they have terrible mail service there.

The problem was never resolved, even though I told Peter about it. It is a small issue and the jacket is not bad with the original D Rings, but to me a promise is a promise. Thank goodness Todd came along with his Standard and I don't have to put up with Wested's customer service anymore.

Holt, that is one nice fitting jacket there. Is that the ROTLA special offer?? If it is it really looks great on you. I may have to consider getting me one of those. Ya those d-rings can be easily replaced. I got some from strapworks recently, well lets just say order a lot of them if you get some from there. I broke about at least 6 of them. I say get some from Peter, I am getting some when I get my next jacket. Great purchase holt, looks great, very SA. :D

Thanks.yes it's one of the most SA jacket I have ever seen..If I can say so myself..

it's so funny that it's just a of the rack regular jacket.it looks and feels like it was measured up and down to fit my specs.

I guess I was very lucky getting this jacket

Great looking jacket Holt. My "special offer" ROLA Wested sounds and looks identical to yours (except mine came with rectangular rather than D-rings).

The inside pockets may not be SA( not that I remember inside pockets in any of my viewings of ROtLA) but then again, short of receiving a jacket with Harrison Ford or one of the stunt men inside of it, someone will always tell you it's not SA.

Enjoy the new gear!

Yeah...Who cares if the SA raiders jacket was built with one inside pocket or two!?!?!?! Now if there was a specific scene where Indy opened his jacket revealing the ONE pocket, then that would be different.. IMO

Heck, I'd take three pockets if the jacket fits correctly and looks good!

Shoulder pads? Are they necessary for SA? Jacket looks great, by the way. An excellent fit and drape.

yes I have heard that as well...but no worries there...you wont notice the pads...only if you bend the jacket when not wearing it,then you make them noticable...but when wearing it you cant see them

I think they put them in because I really have heard from somewhere that the raiders jacket had thin shoulder pads...I can ask Peter tomorow...

However the pads in this jacket is really thin and you almost cant feel them

so wearing the jacket doesn't make you look like you weare a miami vice hawai jacket with big shoulder pads comming up to your ears

can you see or notice the pads on my photos above?

On my jacket,I didn't really notice them at first. After a while, as the leather started to crease, the leather was creasing around the shoulder pads, leaving the jacket with a nice triangle design on the shoulders. So............... Mrs. Blooze sprang into action with her implements of destruction, and performed a 'padectomy' on my jacket. I love the way it looks now. I'd love to get the same cut and style in Peter's new goat or horse.

exactly what do they mean by this
"Unlike the Standard raiders which has slight modification to make it durable and street wearable this 'film jacket' although equally wearable is more lightweight."

how much thinner IS it?

will it rip and tear easily if worn daily?

No it has the same quality leather as my standard wested.so daily wear wont be a problem.I think it was made just a little thinnner to give it that more xtra drape like you see in the movie

the modifications between this jacket and a standard is that this spesial raiders has no inside leather facings under the zipper on the right side of the jacket.
the inside pockets does not have that triangular shape sewn aorund the pockets.

other that that I could not be happier with this jacket.I like this more then the standard

Hi..just removed my shoulder pads on this jacket...and now I even love the jacket more...if that is possible?...

the jacket get's a more rounded shoulder look like harrison had in Raidrers...before I had them removed I had more of a stylish jacket with shoulder pads...

if you can remove them profesionally I recommend that...the ant of my girl works with custom tailor made clothes,so she did it for me :D

I'll take some pictures soon when I have my camera back from service..

Greetings, I am a noob here, but I have been reading the message boards for some time now. Boy, I thought I had a case of OCD, but some of you guys take the cake and I LOVE IT!

Anyway, thanks to some of the testimonials, I have decided to order one of the rotla specials from Wested. I thought I would take a chance and order one off the rack. I'll let you all know what I think.

Thanks to all the people who contribute here. Everyone seems to be very nice in sharing their stories and suggestions.

Holt:

I just got my Wested. Boy was that fast. I ordered it last Thursday and I got it today (Tuesday). By the way, I live in Florida.

However, I think it may be a tad bit too small. I ordered a 40R off the rack. I'm thinking I should have ordered a 42R. How tall are you my friend? I am just at 6'0 and weigh about 172 lbs and I am pretty athletic. The sleave length seems just about right, but the jacket feels somewhat close around the body. (I don't want to say that it is snug or tight.) I'll try it on with an Indy shirt as soon as I get home to get a better feel. I was just wondering how big you were since I saw you ordered a 42. I was wondering how much longer the sleaves would be on a 42.

Aside from that, the jacket looks and feels awesome! Thanks again for all the input the fans put into this site.

hey :D ....

well congrats on the jacket...well if it feels a little snug I suggst getting a size up...
I am 6.1...I have a 42 and it fits me perfectly when I have a T-Shirt under it..when I raise my arms up and hold them forward the jacket feels tight around the shoulder and under the arms..I do work out a lot too so I have a very V back and broad shoulders, but it only feels thight in that part...thats the problem with off the rack jackets..they are made to fit avarage bodyform...I am not saying that I am Arnold or anything...dont get me wrong..I am stil avarage..but very athletic like yourself....and thats why I am whaiting on my custom made LC jacket.

I also have a 44 rotla jacket on the way....I think the new size up will fit me much better..

ohh BTW the sleeves size from 40 to 42 are bigger in length by an inch or so

high regards

Hello Eric,

Well I just got home and tried the jacket on with one of my Indy shirts and it fits quite well. Like you, I only feel a little snugness when I lift my arms forward, otherwise it is a dead on fit. I love the length of the sleeves. I am afraid that if I exchange it for a 42 they will be too long. I'm gonna think about it for a couple of days, but I think I'm keeping this one. Thanks for your input.

Yep.

Just received mine.

The left pocket has an (almost invisible) zipper.

Mine came with silver D-rings and satin sleeves.

Also the collar doesn't come halfway.

Other than that, SA all the way.

ROTLA jacket with SA patterns

Post by rrhanselka »

Indiana Holt.....
I'm amazed that you can wear a 42R in this jacket. From what I've read, you are considerably larger than me. I'm 5'8" with 42 inch chest and a 34" waist. The 42R ROTLA fits me fine(a little tight in the armholes), but a GREAT weight and drape.

Thanks
