zipper questions???

Post by joeyofarimathea »

i notice a lot of people send in their own zippers to wested? is this only for the color issue? doesnt wested carry any silver colored zippers? if not then can someone please point me to where I can buy a nickel zipper to send to wested? also what size do i get if im a 52L? and what color should the color of the fabric that holds the zipper together be?

this is starting to seem impossible to find a SA jacket!! and what i dont understand is if wested is the original maker why cant they just duplicate one of the ones they used in raiders and use those specs to get "THE" right jacket?

thanks for reading,

Wested offer both kinds of zippers. Just state which one you want in your order and you'll have it.
It used to be that Peter didn't have supplies of alluminium zippers so people sent him theirs but now I think he has them.

Oh yes indeed,
It's mentioned in the site too
There are no inside leather facings, the body is slimmer and the sleeves more tapered. The zip is a smaller 5 gauge nickel and the action pleat depth is narrower with two piped inside pockets.
