Wested off-sizing and returns

Post by Cabinetman »

Okay. It's not here yet, and I am indeed jumping the gun, and being pessimistic. Probably a couple weeks away. "It" is a Wested Raiders in authentic goat, size 42 Reg. I did not ask for any size or length modifications as Peter's typical measurements chart on the website appeared that this sizing would be appropriate. BUT, let's just say it doesn't fit quite right for whatever reason. Peter's site FAQ's answer this, seemingly clearly enough, but I have noticed that many of you who do have a problem are attempting to sell it rather than send it back to Peter for alterations or a re-cut. So, what is "better" to do? Send it back to England, or sell it here or on E-bay? For those of you who have returned your jackets to Peter (I read recently in MK's "...Peter and the Lamb" of him getting his back after sending it to England when?), what kind of turn around have you experienced? Just like ordering a new jacket - 4 to 5 weeks? Expedited?

Sorry for my antsy-ness. Yet I know I am among friends who know the feeling so very well. Thanks.

If you choose to do this on your own, you can sell it and include half of your customs fee. The buyer is usually willing to buy because s/he doesn't have to wait as long.
If you want assistance, the person to talk to is Indydawg since he is, shall we say, "connected."
That said, should you have a problem in the fit---if you have any access to other Wested jackets to try on, I would recommend doing this as it was very beneficial to me.
Let us know how it goes,
I.J.

I feel certain that your initial order is probably going to provide you with complete satisfaction, BUT, should there be a problem, give me a hollar and I'll see what I help you figure out without you having to send the thing back to England OR sell it on your own.

But, you will most likely be VERY happy with the jacket as it is!

We have all been right where you are....you are in good company!

Later!
