BLUE SCREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets hope there isn't much of it in the movie, to me the magic of the Indy movies it was always pretty Old school, SW like technologies IMO would kill this movie series..
Hey Steve, congrats on the mention in that video! As a long-time member of COW, I was way thrilled as I heard your name, so I can only imagine how 'over the moon' you must have been.
You and Marc aren't just gearheads, vendors or fans: you're part of the Indy cannon or lore. How cool is that?
Congrats again.

Oh my, what a wonderful day it is. Congratulations to Steve. Bernie really went out of his way to talk about how you were a such a nice guy. That's pretty awesome.
But the old Indy films used blue screen as well. Heck Last Crusade used cgi. The thing that can be most afforded to be changed are the painted matte backgrounds. Also, blue screen stuff is done so much better nowadays now that it's done digitally and not on a optical printer.Dutch_jones wrote: BLUE SCREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just saw the video a while ago and I just have got to say way to go Steve, Marc, and Tony. Steve and Marc you guys just did an amazing job on the hats and I am glad it went to you guys because you really put behind great craftmanship behind your work. Even if it means not getting an AB from one of you til later this year, it is well worth the wait. Tony, great job on the jacket, truely a piece of work. Can't wait to see how much you will be offering for that jacket. Probably going to cost me an arm and a leg. I just thank all of you guys for all the hard effort you all put in to this movie to make Harrison Ford look just like he did on the last Indiana Jones movie. Outstanding job and you deserve many thanks for all you do for us COW members and for this upcoming film.

That video gave me the chills. I've only conversed with Steve by email but he was always helpful to me a newbie to the Indy Fedora. What a thrill it must have been to actually hear your name and your hard work being praised on an official video from the studio. It would be really great if they would do some actual footage as part of the bonus features on the DVD of both Steve and Marc actually in their workshop making some hats. That is about the only thing I could think of that would top this video. Congratulations to both of you.

Like many others looking forward to receiving their own AB, this video got me even more exited to receive it, and see this movie. Steve, Marc, congrats to both of you for such an outstanding job.
BTW, I thought the jackets in this video looked far better than most of the pics I've seen, so now I'm actually exited to see the jacket in this movie.

Just Wonderful!
Steve...all I can say is "Just Wonderful"!
To hear your name spoken make's plain the fact that
hard work, humility and perhaps just a little bit of "obsession"
can still take you a long way.
To understand that an Adventurebilt hat allowed Steven Spielburg to sleep
better can't be understated! The "hat" is Indy and What you and
Marc have done deserves the absolute highest respect of all of us
on this Forum.
From throwing Hatbodies in a Washer to literally years of conversations with Marc and becoming craftsmen in this field is
perhaps the greatest indicator or what you and Marc have done.
On a personal note, I count it a sincere privilege to call you a friend Steve and a friend of my family. It will always secure you a place of escape, Up here in the Great White North!
Gentlemen, I take my hat off to You and to Marc!
Warmest Regards
Kilgour Trout
p.s. One day I hope to have the honour of actually getting to know Marc.
He's probably got Slow German Drawl eh!

Flash, Michaelson also has problems viewing the official site. Yesterday, I tried to save the video to my computer and put it on youtube but it wouldn't save.Flash Gordon wrote:I can't get the Indiana Jones website!
I keep trying, but a window pops up that says the"movie is running a script that will make your computer unresponsive". And when I tell it that I don't care, the website just keeps flashing on and off. And I really want to see Steve's video!
HELP!

Canada Jones,
Just get the latest version of "Real Player" as it has a "save video" button. Then you can save it and convert it to any file format you want using various video programs such as Windows Media Encoder. That's what I did, so I could load it onto my Zune.

Congratulations Steve and Marc! You guys have worked hard to make your dream come true!
I was disappointed that Marc was not mentioned. I'm sure his name will be in the credits of KOTCS though!
Unfortunately , I think that now that "AB Wait Time These Days?" thread is going to grow much longer.

The most probable credit would simple be the company name,
and that assumes that anyone besides/alongside Bernie gets credit for costume design.
(Sorry to be the gloomy Gus on this one, but that's life in the big city...)
On the happier side, great video. And it was really fun to have Bernie mention Steve by name!!!
Dalexs,
"My sentiments, exactly."
It may happen, but I think that they will end up going with the company logo.
(But, if both names get mentioned, that would be fantastic!)
I can't stop watching the vid, and to hear how pleased everyone was with the final product.
Sorry... I had no doubts, and when it was announced, I knew that I had a piece of history ordered and on the way before it actually happened! That's how much us "Gear Heads" knew that Steve and Marc had "The Hat", that you couldn't even question.

I agree completely. I doubt we will get credits when you see the film. We were never told that we would. All that Bernie told me was that he would mention us at every opportunity, as he wanted the world to know who made the hats, and the jackets. This was due to him taking a fancy to me, and Marc. He mentioned us by name(Marc was apparently edited out for this short video, as Bernie had did a 4 hour interview, but will appear on the bonus dvd). And if we don't get edited out, we will at least be forever on the "making of KOTCS bonus dvd"
For me personally, I could care less. We were lucky enough to get picked to make these last hats, and that is enough for me. I am too old to care about the rest. I don't want the attention, believe it or not. I mean, it is a big deal here on this board to some, but remember, we are gearheads. The rest of the world could really care less WHO made the hats. You guys know, and that is enough for me, and for Marc, if I may speak for him.
In regards to Marc not being mentioned, as I said, he was mentioned, because Bernie told me as much. But, when Bernie decided to make me the point man for AB, due to me being in a close enough time zone for his convenience, this should be in no way taken as excluding Marc. It was just more convenient for Bernie. Fedora

Steve - to a certain extent I agree with this statement (especially outside of COW). But the Indy Fedora, as Bernie and Steven indicated, is such an ingrained icon in the world today (and I emphasize - the world), that even though to the rest of the world the WHO may not be important, the making of the hat would be a great addition to the bonus DVD. Before I started visiting COW I was always interested in how the hats were actually made and even though joe public may not care who made it they would probably be very entertained at seeing an actual hatter making one of the world's most recognized hats (especially the bashing part!). Just my 2 cents. Bernie - if you are listening.....Fedora wrote: The rest of the world could really care less WHO made the hats. PS - what's with all the new avatars. I liked the old one - or did I hear you weren't wearing an AB in that one?

take it that what we see here is part of the documentary which will be on the Bonus Disc right? li
I am assuming so. I was told Bernie did a 4 hour interview for the Press Package, and "special dvd", so I am assuming this was in reference to the bonus dvd like you see with the dvd set that covers Raiders thru TLC.

Yes, it is an icon, but I just don't think the general public cares about WHO made the hats. If I was not an Indy fan, I would not care one twittle.
Just got tired of looking at myself each time I would make a post. I bet if you looked through my photo albums, you MIGHT see a single picture of me. I just never cared for photos of myself, otherwise I would have taken one of me in an AB and used it as an avatar. Who wants to look at an old man anyways? I like our new logo much better as an avatar. More interesting. FedoraPS - what's with all the new avatars. I liked the old one - or did I hear you weren't wearing an AB in that one?

Ok, here is what I look like today. An old coot.(57 in the month of May) Sorry to waste board space here, but I had been asked by someone to post a recent pic of me, that is, what I looked like THESE days. So this thread is a GOOD place to hide it. I apologize to the weak and queasy. The red flush is from sheer embarrassement from taking my own pic.
The edge of the camper you see in this shot is my 25 ft hat shop. Works well, and I can drag it behind the 4 wheel drive pathfinder if I ever want to visit. My mo-bile hat shop.

Why - you are a youngster Steve. You really aren't an old coot until you are over 60 (take it from an old coot of 62 in March). That last avatar you had a full beard - you have done some trimming. Now that's a face I would like to see on a bonus DVD just bashing away on a KotCS Fedora. Not knowing what Marc looks like (that's a hint Marc) - you could both be stars!! Thanks for the pic - you look great in that hat.Fedora wrote:Ok, here is what I look like today. An old coot.(57 in the month of May)
