New video on the official site

Post by Tennessee Smith »

There's a new video on the official site dedicated to the Hat and Jacket, it mentions Steve Delk and Tony Novak by name and gives us a visual confirmation of what most of us already know. Check it out.

Great Post!!! That's the best views I've seen yet of the KotCS hat; man, it looks great! The pinch looks (to me) very Sam Spade-esque, but it still has 'Indy' written all over it. Fantastic job by Steve, creating a NEW iconic look, with a hybrid that takes a few cues from other hero/classic hats and makes them all Indiana Jones. A job well done, Steve, as we've all said so many times. Can't wait to get mine!

Wow, I just had a guy call me from Texas, a member here, who told me about the new video. NOW, it finally sinks home that Marc and I made the hats for the new film. It took this video to convince me. Heck, I thought I was dreaming. Fedora

Wonderful looking hats, to say the least!

But I'm not buying the bag over the jacket! But yes, the hats really capture it and bring Indy back to life!!

Do we have this video in another thread? I don't want to stray this convo away from Steve!!

Steve, you guys have been working 16-20 hour days, 6-7 days a week for almost a year.....and it took this bit of video to convince you that you're involved in a HUGE FILM?

Yep, you ARE working to hard. [-X

WOW! Just superb. Man, the costume looks GREAT in these new images of Ford.
Now we know what Steve sounds like too (Thanks to Bernie's impression of Steve's reaction when asked if he could supply 30 hats).

CONGRATULATIONS once again to Steve and Marc!!!

It's a great video and I like the new gear the more I see it... ok a part from the shirt
I'm happy that some of the makers of the gear were finally quoted. Ok Marc and Steve, it's the end of your tranquillity

Again congratulations to you both for your success with this film

WOW! Nice to see this. Too bad there is no mention of Marc, but what can you do?
Bernie's impression of Steve is pretty accurate and his telling of Steve's personality is dead on.
Glad to see AB get the worldwide recognition you guys deserve. To me, this is better than seeing your name in the credits. Millions will see this video but how many will actually pay attention to the credits?

30 hats and 30 jackets? well it looks like the hat and jacket could change from scene to scene.

Luckily we know the maker of the jackets and hats so it shouldn't be too hard to get screen accuracy this time around, even with all the different hats/jackets.

Anyone know if tony is selling his indy 4 jacket yet?

I'm pretty sure I was told by someone off this site that he wil not be selling them until the movie premiers. If he was selling them right now, I think there are only a small handful of people who would be willing to pay his projected asking price. You could get a new Flightsuits and Wested and still have change left over.

30 hats and 30 jackets? well it looks like the hat and jacket could change from scene to scene.
Actually the initial hat order was for 24. Then Bernie upped it to 30, then 36. By the time we were through we had sent around 50 hats including the samples that I did not charge them for. Heck, little did they know, but we would have done all of the hats for FREE! :D

And on the interview, he did mention Marc, and I think we will hear and see that on the bonus dvd when the time comes.
Bernie: So, can you make me 30 of them?"

Fedora: Well, ah'll try."

That cracked me up!

Yeah, I got a kick out of that too. Bernie loved my accent for some reason, but probably chuckled to himself once I had hung up. Fedora

Great job, Steve (and Marc) . Watching the video, I'm like "AAHHH! They stored the hats on the brim!", I thought that was a no-no. The video also further prooves the durability (in case there was any doubt) of the hat - by showing them spraying water on it and if i'm not mistaken, I think there was one shot of HF putting that hat on after it had been floating. Can you tell us, Steve or Marc, if there were any logo of any kind in the liner? For some reason I'm curious about that - I don't know why  . My favorite line: "The hat...never...comes...off!"

Incidentially - anybody notice when they showed the jackets , that two of them were actually obviously different colors? One was a like a tan and the other had more of a red-ish hue :-k

Holy Smokes Steve! I almost passed out when I watched the video I was so happy. And to think it all started with a bunch of guys chatting about hats on a website.
To quote one of the earlier posters - Steve, you are a rock star!

PS - BTW, the new AB crest, to quote the movie "Zoolander," is "really, really ridiculously good looking!"

And for the record, that is just what Fedora sounds like!!! Sounds like Bernie has just as much respect for Steve and the vendors as Steve does of him.

Absolutely. I wonder if maybe they put the jacket through something while they were filming that changed the jackets' colors. Who knows. Hopefully, if they do get used in the movie, it won't be as noticable as it was in the side-by-side comparison.

Steve and Marc, Congrats again. It's about #### time you get recognized by name after all that hard work. Also, I'd have to agree with Panama Tom Jr. about the new crest. Everytime I think about the testimonials on your website, I think of Rick's photos...

Yes, congratulations. I "watched" the video here at work, but can't listen in, so I'll have to watch it again (with sound) when I get home.

You guys did a great job, it shows, and you'll get the much needed recognition you most definately deserve.

Time will record the best Indy fedora of them all was not one made by a big name, or a big bankroll, or even a famous hatter on a famous street in London. But it will be the one made out of the love of the character of Indiana Jones.... by a pair of fans. :)

It's great to see how you finally receive credit for spending so much energy and time into that project. You guys deserve it, thats for sure.
I'm proud to have a high quality Adventurebilt on order, a hat which was produced by one of the gentlemen wo made the hats for my favorite hero.

Yes, I remember Steve or Marc said, that they were told to do so, in case the liner is visible on screen.
Well, I would have loved to see the "Staff of Ra" Logo on one of the hats, though.

You know, a few nights ago, I had a dream that I went all the way to Mississipi with a friend to see Steve Delk but he wasn't there and I was devastated that I'd missed him. :(

Several months before Steve and Marc got the deal to do the hats for the new Indy movie, I had a pretty strong feeling in my heart that they would get the chance to provide the hats for this new adventure. I don't think that I am alone when I say that something inside me just knew that they would get this, and when I heard that they had, I was not only excited because I was right, I was also excited because they were not only members of this board, but they were two guys that we'd all gotten to know pretty well here. :P

When Bernie said Steve's name, I had the biggest smile on my face that I'd ever seen. I've only ever had the pleasure of speaking to Steve on the phone which was two years ago, and have had the pleasure of finally getting to meet Marc last year and this alone was enough to get me jumping up and down with excitement.

Steve and Marc, Marc and Steve, the gentlemen of Adventurebilt. I have just finished watching the video and I feel like crying because I am so happy for you guys. :P :) :D
