I know, lambskin, then lambtouch...
But between authentic goat and the new predistressed cow, which do people feel has the better "drape"?

In my opinion, the goat will probably drape better than the PD Cow. The cow is thicker. The goat can be cut thinner, but is more durable.Andy Inna wrote:I know, lambskin, then lambtouch...

Re: best drape
Well, at our meeting last month we had both of these fine Wested jackets. I loved the drape of both of them. However, to answer your question I would have to say that the authentic goat had a better drape; it was quite thin.Andy Inna wrote:...between authentic goat and the new predistressed cow, which do people feel has the better "drape"?
For me, I like the drape of Indydawg's pre-distressed Wested cowhide. It is certainly not stiff by any means. It's just a bit heavier than the other offerings but that doesn't bother me. I also may add that I believe he mentioned that he treated it with Pecard dressing after about a year. So, I cannot say if that had anything to do with softening it up or not.

Yes, Pecards does make the predistressed cowhide less stiff and darkens it (at least on mine it did). Even though mine darkened, it has lightened back to original color over time...when I reapply Pecards, it darkens.Indiana Joe wrote:I also may add that I believe he mentioned that he treated it with Pecard dressing after about a year.
