Package from Australia

Post by Tron7960 »

My Federation arrived this week (10 days to Canada). Prior to finding COW a month ago I didn't know what a bash or an open crown was and thanks to all of you I'm having a blast learning. (It's easier than figuring out how to post pics!) I have a Magnoli HJ on order but wanted to ensure I had a decent hat in time for the big day in May.

Hah! I love how they drew a shining sun on there! The hat looks really good open crown, but how's it look on your noggin? Did you shape it? I was guessing the hat you're wearing in your avatar is that hat.

You must be psyched dude!

I love my Fed. I still love my HJ, but the Fed feels like it could really take a beating and still retain it's form.

Ya, I'm wearing the hat in my avitar. I'm still figuring out this shaping/bash thing but I'm not unhappy with the results so far.

Since I got my first piece of "real" gear at christmas (Aldens) I don't even want to know what I've spent, but I'm loving every minute of it.!

Hey Tron: That hat looks fantastic!
You've done an excellent job at bashing as well.
By the block straightness it looks like a 59 plus cm?

Isn't Jenny Great? I just recently received a Tawny Fawn Fed and
a Akubra Campdraft and got the same cute sun!.

She and Ron are terrific. Their service is second to none. When I mentioned that I thought the Fed might look better with a darker brown
they sent me a length of darker brown ribbon just in case.

Anyway..so glad to see another Canuck.
And one so close! I'm just in Thunder Bay.
We might just need to call an "Indy Summit" in the Peg!

P.s. Gary..where are you?

Warm Regards
Kilgour Trout

I'm very happy with the Tawny Fawn colour as well!
It really is dressy to say the least.

Gary...I get down to Toronto quite a bit, as I work for the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

I could buy you a Tim's Double Double during one of my
trips. I'm always around Young Street as our Offices are on
the corner of Eglinton and Young. I'm also usually staying at the
Courtyard Marriot.

Give it some thought, It'd be great to meet another Gear Head eh! :D

Cheers

A few of you have requested pics of the hat with me acting as a hat-stand.

They are a bit out of focus, and the light would be better outdoors, but with the temp. at -30c outdoor pics will have to wait.

Photos taken by my two junior Indy fans, daughters 9 and 5.

Thanks everyone. At first, the thought of tackling an open crown was intimidating, but I have to say it was pretty fun and definitely something I look forward to doing again.
With all the info on this site, pics, tutorials etc. how can you go wrong?
